question

What is the difference between this and the other $429 kit aside from containing the tent ? They use different terminology to explain the pieces making this sound more of an upgrade but to my ameture eyes it seems as the only difference is the tent . Is the tent worth the additional $85?
Asked by: Stacy k.
The lights in this kit are the same as the Smith-Victor FLB-3 1050W 3-Fluorescent Light 28 Tent Kit (120V) B&H # SMFLB3. The price difference is because of the shooting tent which includes a set of backgrounds.

question

What has anyone used for diffusers with these lights?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes, I use the diffuser socks on all three of the lights most of the time. I find the light too intense for my purposes without them.

question

I am shopping for lights to use with the 48 light tent (because I think these are stronger than what comes in the kit) that I can hopefully use for portraits. Will these be TOO strong to use with the tent?
Asked by: Anonymous
I am using these for product shots of small items like Christmas ornaments and have not found them to be too bright at all. I would think they would be great for portraits but have not tried them for that purpose. Hope this helps a little. Good luck.

question

Does this kit require some kind of unit to plug the lights into or can they be plugged straight into conventional (US) outlets?
Asked by: Anonymous
just a regular outlet - it has standard plugs.
