    Domke F-945 reviews

F-945 Belt Pouch (Olive) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Small Bag I bought this little belt pouch to use when I didn't want to carry a lot of equipment. With this bag I can put my camera over my shoulder and have the rest of my gear in this pouch. It holds my two extra voigtlander lenses, the filters, extra flash cards and my glasses, with room left over. If I wanted, it would also hold my SB600 flash. When I walk around I hardly notice I am carrying it and no one looks and thinks photographer and a lot of gear. Yet I have everything I need. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because the velcro is fairly hard to open and extremely loud. I really should give it 5 stars since it is Made in America.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Basic, Quality Domke Product This is a basic, simple product made out of the heavy-duty canvas that Domke is known for. I use it to carry small rangefinder lenses, rolls of film and other small items that I want to reach quickly. It even holds a small rangefinder camera such as the Leica IIIA. My one complaint is that it's a little too big. If you fill it with stuff, it makes a pretty heavy, bulky weight on your belt and doesn't easily fit under a shirt or jacket. It's best for holding small or flat items.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable, Good size, Very useful and solidly built. Pouches abound these days. For hip wear belt attachment, I prefer the Domke because it's small enough to be comfortable and doesn't get in the way of my seat belt buckle holder. It also hangs horizontally rather than vertically. Holds all kinds of stuff like my Sekonic meter or Minolta AF meters; small notebook; pens; keys; couple of spare rolls of film; my cell phone. Oh and Snickers Bars. It's a handy item to use daily even when you're not shooting. One easily fixed drawback: The hook and loop closure is really sturdy. So much in fact that it makes a real ruckus when you open it. I put some black gaffers tape on either end to make it quieter and easier to open. For transporting small equipment like meters, radio slaves, tripod heads, etc., thiese are quite good. I also like Newswear pouches and Zing bags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed Domke is a well-known and trusted brand (I got my first Domke bag in 2003 and it's still going strong), so when I was looking for a solution for carrying my Leica M6 along w/ an extra lens, light meter, etc., inside a large backpack, this pouch stood out to me as a possible answer. It's exactly what I needed: strong, Domke construction, sized perfectly for my needs. I put a bit of extra padding at the bottom (something I do with most of my camera bags), and it does the job perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is a Domke I tend to be a minimalist when it comes to what I carry. I shoot with a Nikon D610 on a Blackrapid strap. I either use a 24-85 along with a 70-300 OR a 50mm, 20mm and 105mm macro. Either lens set will work well in this bag. When I use the second lens set I also include an OpTech double ended rear lens cap. Domke bags may not be for everyone. Growing up in photography in the 60s and 70s nylon bags didn't exist and if you wanted canvas there was one Leica bag or (the holy grail) a three compartment military first aid kit bag. Domke filled what was very much a void. There IS NOT a whole lot of padding in most Domke bags, but if you aware of this they make a very high quality product. For me, padding has NEVER been an issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USEFUL AND WELL MADE I needed a pouch to attach to the belt of my waistpack to carry my spotmeter. This pouch is the perfect size, shape and weight for the job. A little padding would have been nice, but I placed a foam divider from an old camera bag on the bottom of the pouch which does the trick. The velcro strip allows for very convenient one hand opening and closing. The pouch is very well made from high quality canvas. All in all, a very good purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good enough to buy two I downsized from full frame to M43 but still found that a kit of GF-1, kit 14-45 zoom, 45-200 and 7-14 zooms required a shoulder bag too heavy to carry comfortably all day, as I often do when hiking. I bought one of Domke's belt pouches to see if it could fit my M43 kit on the belt of my North Face mid-size pack. It worked, so I bought a second one. Both fit easily on the pack's belt, One carries the 2 zooms in their lens pouches. The other carries the GF-1 with kit zoom, 55mm ExpoDisc, 55mm polarizer, spare SD card and spare battery. Now everything is instantly accessible without having to remove the back pack, and the weight is where I don't even notice it. It has crossed my mind that the pouches lack padding, however, the lenses are in their own pouches, and I think that unless one falls hard on one's front there is little chance of equipment damage. There cannot be zero risk anyway.
