    Impact DVP-WA50-58 reviews

    DVP-WA50-58 58mm .5x Hi-Grade Wide Lens is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from A major disappointment Why would anyone buy a camcorder with such beautiful, clear, vivid optics as the Canon Vixia HF S21 and then turn around a mess it all up by adding this lens to it? My advice to anyone who is looking for a wide angle lens, do not buy this lens unless you have a chance to test it on your camera. With this lens on, the middle of the image(which is the clearest area) never came into sharp focus and it got progressively worst as it extended outwards. When I purchased my Canon HV20 a few years ago I also purchased the Canon wide angle lens to go with it; I have never removed it from my camcorder since. I have sent this Impact lens back to B&H and am willing to pay the extra bucks for the Canon Wide Angle lens.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish I hadn't bought it. I have the Canon 0.7x adapter, and that is an excellent lens. I needed a somewhat wider angle lens, and so I thought to try this one, but I am really not happy with it. There is a very slight (1%) milk look to the glass, and the sharpness is just not there. In contrast, I would happily buy a Canon 0.7x adapter again, though it costs more.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice set for beginners I like this item I have purchased. Im beginning with photos and this lenses suplied what I was waiting for. The wide angle lens increase the image angle in 40 degrees in my way of thinking when used over the original 18-55 Cannon T2i set and the macro lets you get closer then used the original. For a beginner is very cool!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice lense. Lense is clear and gives sharp images. You can zoom a little through it but the edges of the image start to blur.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasantly Surprised I ordered this as a standard wide-angle adapter for my new Vixia HFS-10 camcorder and was pleasantly surprised with the included macro lens. The wide angle lens is very nice and provides a nice looking image. For the first couple days I didn't even realize the macro lens was attached, then using it by itself I fell in love with it. It's a very handy macro lens that allows you to literally put the front of the camera on something and be able to see the finest textures of the object. Compared to the other lenses I looked at this one seems to be a great product for the price. My only disappointment has nothing to do with this product, but because the outer diameter of the glass is so large (86mm), the UV protection filter is over $100 (nearly the price of the lens itself), so I passed on the UV filter for now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Confusing yet OK lens adapter I'm not 100% satisfied by the wide-angle attachment part of the lens, as it does add some distortion to the outer areas of the video. I'm using this with the Canon HF-S100 and I didn't realize that it included a macro lens also screwed into the bottom of the wide-angle attachment... It is still a bit confusing to me, as I can unscrew the macro lens and just use the wide angle, and vice versa... not sure if I should use the wide angle with the macro attached or not... BUT, the price is worth the macro lens attachment alone. I love the macro features, it allows you to get in REAL close and maintains great clarity and sharpness as well as wonderful depth of field... I'll probably keep this, and just buy the Canon wide-angle attachment later when I can afford it; as I'm not all that happy with this part of this lens.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bagram AFB So, I'm on my way to Bagram AFB. My friend Richard Beymer said I should buy an HD camera for the trip. So, I did. I love the gear that I bought. Canon HF21 and the super wide angle lens to go with it. So far so good. Jim
