The Bosch LTC8780/60 is designed to convert an Allegiant's Biphase code into an RS-232 code and back to biphase code for transmission over conventional mediums such as phone modems, fiber optics and microwave. In addition to a main Allegiant CPU bay, this unit will accept biphase signals from an LTC8568 Signal Distribution unit, an LTC5135 series controller/ follower, an output from a LTC 8569 series or an LTC8570, LTC8571, LTC8572 series Code Merger unit.
Satellite System Configuration
In addition to operating as a 15 channel remote signal distribution
unit, this unit can be used to operate the Satellite Selector functions in Allegiant Satellite system configurations. Wiring can be in either a star or daisy chain configuration, with each output capable of
driving up to 8 daisy chained receiver and driver loads at a distance of up to
up to 5000 ft (1.5 km) using an optional 1 mm2 (18 AWG) shielded twisted pair Belden 8760 or equivalent cable.
An optional LTC9101 rack-mount kit is available for mounting one or two of these half rack units, side-by-side in a 19" rack.
