The unique staggered leg design of a C Stand allows it to be nested and placed extremely close to another one on a set. The top leg of the stand is independently adjustable.

This is the gold standard for a reason. Extremely solid, perfectly balanced, and built to last. The turtle base makes transport and storage easy, and once it’s planted, it does not move. The grip head and arm lock down tight with zero flex, even when fully extended with heavier modifiers or cameras. I’ve used cheaper stands before and there’s no comparison—this feels safe, professional, and confidence-inspiring on set. If you’re mounting lights, flags, or doing overhead/top-down work, this is the one to buy once and keep forever. Worth every dollar.

Are KUPO c stands compatible with Matthews? For example, could a Kupo gobo head attach to a Matthews baby pin or Matthews grip arm? Can you 'soldier' the stands next to each other (Matthews agains Kupo)? Looking to invest in a brand, and for the turtle base option I'd like, the Matthews is $50 more, and I like the quick release idea Kupo has. Is there any real con to investing in Kupo? I will be using these for film and video applications. Thanks!

Sorry I hit submit while I was editing. Kupo is a little heaver and the legs are bolted to castings, what we have noticed is a movement where the base tube and leg assemble join that's what gave it a lean. Matthews is a welded leg assemble and their is no movement in the column connecting area, also we have the strongest grip head in the industry.

Are the turtle bases and stands from Matthews, Avenger, etc. all interchangeable from one brand to another? I already have Avenger and wonder whether I should stay with that brand, so that I don't have to bother matching Avenger bases with Avenger stands as opposed to Matthews stands.

I believe American and Matthews are interchangeable but Avenger is Metric so I am not sure.
