Record high-quality vocals for podcasts and voice-over work right to computers with the RODE Podcaster, a USB microphone designed to sound great in home studio and mobiles setup. If all you have is a room and a computer, you can use this microphone to record your voice with professional resolution and clarity.
Podcasters will appreciate the cardioid polar pattern—which naturally reduces room noise by rejecting any audio to the back and rear of the mic's capsule—as well as the built-in pop filter to minimize p-pops and plosives. The mic comes with a USB cable and a standmount, so you can set it up right out of the box.

RODE Podcaster Reviews
Terrific kit, fast setup
This setup elevates your videoconferencing or webcam game to a pro level, without any specialized knowledge required. You don't need any audio mixer or adapters -- just plug the USB into your machine and you get magical sound. No drivers needed on Windows 11, I can verify. Apps automatically recognize the device. Ambient sound is removed and you get a really high quality voice signal.
The Rode Podcaster Kit is Fabulous!
I ordered the Rode Podcaster microphone for mainly podcasting and radio interviews to be recorded at home. With the offer of the Kit that B & H offered it just made life easy for me. The mic stand by Auray is excellent, not just good. In fact, it seemed stronger than the Rode mic stand equivalent that I could have bought separately. I am so happy with this purchase and will continue to look to B & H for these kinds of Kits which are well thought out!
One of the best microphones out there
The audio quality that I can get out of this microphone is phenomenal. And not just for a USB microphone, I think this could go toe-to-toe with some of the big boy XLR microphones + audio interface options out there. I have this set up with the Røde PSA1 Studio Arm and PSM1 shock mount in a carpeted room, but with nothing on the walls (definitely not an ideal space for recording audio) and I don't have any issues with background noise or echoes or anything. With how good this microphone is, I would only upgrade to an XLR mic (like the Røde Procaster) if I were doing interviews with others and so needed multiple mics, and then I would get the Rodecaster interface at that stage.
Best Mic I've ever had!
This is the best Mic I've ever owned. For years I was using blue mics and really didn't enjoy them. I switched to this mic and instantly knew I made the right choice
Decent podcasting mic, but overpriced
Not super impressed with the tone of these things...but pretty nice. As far as cardioid dynamic USB mics go, I kind of prefer the tone of the AT2100 (way cheaper too)
Not as great as I expected
These things look nice and are well built, but I'm not crazy about the tone on these. For a Cardioid Dynamic USB mic – I almost prefer the tone of the Audio Technica 2100x (less than half the price)
Excellent
I was a little skeptical about moving from XLR to a USB microphone. Works amazingly well with Arch Linux and no issues so far. Very happy and highly recommended.
High Quality Mic (A Bit Quiet)
I have really enjoyed using this mic. It’s been a few weeks in and I am very pleased with the quality and sound style this mic has. One immediate downside I found is that it’s a bit quiet, and you don’t have a gain knob. You can either stay in a fixed, very close position (1 inch) while speaking, or use a virtual mixer (like Voicemeeter), which is what I did. Using virtual mixers can be a hassle for most users to set up properly and take time to troubleshoot. I wouldn’t recommend this mic to any beginner who doesn’t know what they are doing. However, for more experienced software users, you will be pleased with this mic. The cardioid pattern is very apparent, which is great. I would recommend buying another pop filter to slip on top of this to reduce plosives, which did make it through the built-in filter in some cases.
