Savage 7-1253 Overview

  • 1Description

Photograph people and products against a smooth, uncluttered background with this 53" x 36' roll of #07 Redwood Widetone Seamless Background Paper from Savage. To facilitate even lighting, the surface of the paper is non-reflective and has a fine-tooth finish. In addition to photography, the paper may be used for events, decorations, banners, and more.

The paper density is 100 pounds, or 145 gsm, an easy-to-handle resilient thickness of 7.6 mil, and comes wound on a core with a 2.125" interior diameter. A plastic sleeve protects the roll in transit and can be saved to provide continued protection when the paper is not in use. The paper should be stored vertically to reduce the possibility of warping and other damage. Photographers often use clamps to secure the paper to a backdrop stand as well as tape to secure the paper to the floor if rolled out for full-body shots. The paper is acid-free and 100% recyclable.

Due to the manufacturing process, it's not uncommon for sizes to fluctuate slightly. In most cases the amount of fluctuation won't matter.

Savage 7-1253 Reviews

Widetone Seamless Background Paper (#07 Redwood, 53- x 36') is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 1691.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this paper! Photographs beautifully! I use this paper for maternity, newborn, and baby/cake smash portraits and I love it. The color is a nice ivory/cream-ish color and can easily be edited to be warmer or cooler in tone. It's very durable and holds up well for traveling to clients' homes. It also goes a long way, I can photograph a lot of sessions out of one roll! I do wish there were in an in-between size between the 53 and the 107 because the 53 is great for single subjects but it's cutting it close for two adults and really not feasible for family images. Overall a wonderful product though and you just can't beat it for the price and ease!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Color It took so long for me to decide on a gray from all of the Savage gray color options. I was leaning towards Stone Gray but could not find an example anywhere on the internet. I decided to just go for it. The color was just what I was looking for. It works really well as a neutral backdrop for both color and B&W images. I will post a few examples from a recent shoot, just so there is FINALLY and example out there somewhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The White is Right, Just What I Needed! When I need to use a seamless background to photograph my subject, mere muslin backdrops will not due. The Widetone Seamless Background Paper was an easy choice, it gives me the perfect background without wrinkles or shine, and works great for bouncing light onto my subjects with the assistance of a reflector board. This paper can serve other purposes as well; eventually you will make a wrinkle, crease, or mark, once that happens you can cut that section off and use it for art projects, signs, just about anything else you can think of. Children love it when they can make a cutouts of themselves and then decorate them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for digital projector screen After moving, I needed a new screen for my Infocus digital projector. I did some research on the net, and found several recommendations for using savage superwhite seamless paper as screen material for my projector. The product arrived within a few days, and I simply measured, cut the paper to fit the projector image, and attached the paper directly to the wall (drywall) using white tacks I bought for 50 cents. The image quality for watching movies is great, along with very good color saturation. If you are looking for an inexpensive screen for your movie projector, savage white seamless paper is the way to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! This paper is so nice, and so wonderfully priced! I have used this in a seamless setting as well as just a back drop paired with a wood floor drop. The color is great, and perfect for boys or girls... For sure not a baby blue though, It's more of a teal color, which is what I was looking for and am very happy with the color. The paper is nice and thick, and with 12 yards of it, if it gets dirty, which would take a bit of use, you just tear a little off and start fresh. I will be ordering more of these in different colors in the near future! Wonderful addition to my indoor studio set up... Can't beat the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size and quality I already own a white one so I decided to finish it off and buy the black one. The black is great for dramatic shots be it portraits or products. Some people complain about the light showing in the paper but I say that with black the idea is to use directional light away from the back and use a grid/snoot/stripbox from behind to your subject and create seperation. Its a matter of how to use the light. The results are dramatic. I consider black a must for my creative shots. You can use color gels for even more dramatic looks. This is the perfect size to fit in your car and large enough for one person shots and might be a tight fit for a couple.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Accurate color & quality I use Savage paper rolls all the time. It's thicker (about 3-4 paper construction worth) and doesn't tear easily. I went by the bright pink color and this was just the right product for a mother/daughter event at the local community. Like any paper based background if you get close enough there's some texture including the white one. Just a little info if you're using this for product photography or you want a perfectly smooth paper finish then this 'may' not be for you. That of course will depend on how close you're shooting, etc but I noticed it when doing close up product photos and the paper's texture was showing in some of the photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from product precision. As an amateur photographer, cost is the name of the game all too often. This was a well-priced background that I use religiously now. It's a perfect tone for honestly any situation, and has opened up a whole new world of paper backgrounds to me. Very pleasing to the eye, great for portraits or fashion shots - this is a perfect companion. The only downfall is to be expected - because it's paper it'll rip and break. But because it's so long, it's not an issue. By just cutting the old and using the new it's like a new backdrop, but this one you don't have to iron out!I do wish that it had a tubular ... box, it would make it easier to travel.

What is the perfect size to get for someone who is 5ft9? I want to make fashion youtube videos with this
Asked by: Sarah O.
If the shot would be framed from waist up or from shoulder up, this size would be fine. Otherwise, if the shot is full length, then the Savage Widetone Seamless Background Paper (#41 Blue Mist, 107 x 36') B&H # SABGP10741 is much better.

what size would be a good size for it to be a background and a floor drop?
Asked by: Anonymous
Generally, if you need the subject to stand on the paper so that it would cover them from head to toe, that would be based on their height. However, most people choose a 107 wide option as that covers most subject with an average height up to 6 ft. An example of such is Savage Widetone Seamless Background Paper (#58 Studio Blue, 107 x 36') ,B&H # SABGP10758.

Do you sell heavy duty cardboard tubes that could cover and protect this product, or do you include that as the shipping container?
Asked by: Robert
These paper rolls are shipped in a long cardboard box running the length of the roll itself. However, we do not offer cardboard tubes for sale on their own.
