    Crucial CT12864Z335 reviews

1GB DIMM Memory for Desktop is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 962.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from RAM perfect match for motherboard I built my PC almost 9 years ago. At the time it had more than enough memory but with today's programs requiring more RAM my hard drive was working overtime swopping programs. The boot time got longer with each update of XP. I ran the Crucial System Scanner which detected the brand and model of my motherboard and made a number of suggestions for upgrading the RAM. I selected one of the options and ordered it. I'm glad I did. My computer is like new again, boots about 3 times faster, runs multiple programs simultaneously with no noticeable slowdown and my hard drive runs hardly at all. I figure this computer is good for at least another 5 years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasant Memory Upgrade Experience Product works well as expected. The big plus in this memory upgrade experience has been the ease of working with this supplier. Originally, I ordered the wrong memory modules by mistake. Then I had to do an exchange and was worried about difficulties I might encounter in returning the wrong and ordering the right modules. It all turned out to be a straight-forward process. Not only did I get help in identifying the correct modules for upgrade but they made the return process for the incorrect modules very simple. Within 3 days I had the entire exchange process completed and the new modules installed. THANKS FOR THE CUSTOMER-FRIENDLY EXPERIENCE!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy, Happy Ok, I had their scanner check out my existing memory and suggest compatible upgrades. Ordered, crossed my fingers and all is well. This memory upgrade saved me from having to purchase a new PC. Glad to have the upgrade and awesomely fast performance. Easily installed by a friend of mine who showed up as soon as I got the cover off my tower and said "let me do it". I probably could have done it myself once I cleared all the dust bunnies out. I did return one piece of memory since there was not slot for it as shown on the scan. No worries, I got good return instructions via email and am just waiting for a credit to my account. Overall, VERY HAPPY.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A simple upgrade made simpler. Memory upgrades are simple enough. What I really liked was Crucial's system scanner tool. I realize that there is other similar freeware software available, but it was just so easy to use Crucial's and then move right over to buy it. The memory upgrade helped my sputtering old machine to perform more than adequately for an office PC. It has performed flawlessly. My only gripe, and this annoys me immensely, is that the system scanner does not work with Firefox. I use IETab in Firefox, and this allowed me to run the scanner without downloading it. It's trivial to rerender a page in IETab, but I'm a strong advocate of browser compatibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great memory replacement for Medion PC My son was using a Medion PC that only had 256 Mb. He would power up the PC and then leave for 20 minutes for it to boot up. Then when he'd open applications it took a long time as well. I replaced the 256 Mb with 2 Gb, and it is like having a new computer. Crucial identified the correct memory for the Medion (not a major brand here in the US)and it was shipped in a timely manner. It wasn't easy to install, but that was more of the motherboard layout in the Medion versus the memory design. I'd recommend memory upgrades from Crucial versus purchasing new PC's, or at least being able to delay the purchase of a new PC. It was cost-effective and met my requirements.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not all that easy to install. It took me a while and several unsuccessful tries to get the boards seated. When it does not work push harder. I thought I would break the mother board before I felt the final snap and the cards worked. After that, they worked like a charm. Just put them in, get them well seated and start the computer. Go to system manager and see if it registers the expected RAM size. This is not a negative review, just a word that you have to push really hard to make them work. The computer is like a brand new one after bumping the ram from 364 Meg to 2 Gig. The only reason I didn't check Multimedia is because I am not into that. I am sure that big RAM is very important for that application as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow! It really works Ran the scan when I first ordered. IF FOUND WHAT I NEEDED RIGHT OFF. When I installed it, I ran the Scan once more-IT WAS OFF THE CHARTS FAST. maxed out memory INSTANLY, just what I wanted. ran some thicker files, loaded instantly. photos files where just as fast! Way cool! I had a 512. so I tripled it with 2- 1G's. the differents was instant. like the snap of a finger, FAST! If you don't get this up grade, your loosing out big time. it was the first time I ever opened up the side of mine or anyones computor! Do recommend a can of air to blow out dust though. CLICKED RIGHT IN PLACE, NO MUSS, NO FUSS. And this from a guy who just started with comuptors last year. Way Cool. Highly recommened

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great memory - sped up my old PC Crucial was the only website that had a program to enable me to find memory compatible with our 15-yr-old PC. The increase from 0.2 Gig to 2 Gig of memory was fantastic; the computer was finally able to run at a decent speed and not hang up! The memory was fully compatible,as promised, and easy to install. I am delighted with the results - and this prevented my having to buy a new desktop! I am running Windows XP service pack 3, and the addition of a wireless modem caused our system to hang up due to too little memory. I was initially worried that the memory wouldn't be compatible with our old motherboard, but it works perfectly. The computer is, obviously, way faster than it has ever been.
