    LensCoat LCN70200VRBK reviews

Lens Cover For the Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8 VR Lens (Black) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 17.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expensive! I read a few reviews, and they seemed decent so I decided to splurge and buy some extra insurance for my 70-200mm Nikkor lens. Looking at the product description I wasn't exactly sure what to expect when I bought this item, but for$I definitely expected more. Now that I have installed all of the thin neoprene parts to the lens I wasn' sure what all the benefits were. Each of the neoprene bands, I felt like, could have been wider to protect more of the lens. Then there are all the areas that need movement which need to stay exposed, not sure how to protect those areas. The neoprene is so thin I wonder how much protection it would provide against bumps, jars and nicks. There is one neoprene cover that goes over the lens hood, which I feel that part of the lens could withstand a small bump without issue. A larger BUMP and the hood would probably crack regardless if the cover was on there or not. A nick would probably be more likely, but those usually happen on the edges, where it is still left unprotected. To do it all over again I would probably not buy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best way to protect your investment -Easy to install -Good fit -Does a good job of protecting the lens -Improved the grip when handling the lens I just returned from a two week safari to Tanzania where my gear was in use and exposed to the elements the entire trip. The LensCoat did it's job and my 200-400 lens returned home in excellent condition. When I first saw the LensCoat I thought I'd made a mistake....it seemed expensive for what you get. While it still seems expensive, the product works and that's the bottom line. I highly recommend purchasing the hood to cover the front of the lens. Not only did it protect the lens from damage, it did a great job of keeping it clear of dust.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Well Works well, seems like the price is a little steep, as the fit wasn't as perfect as I thought it would be. Does protect the lens and shade and is comfortable to shoot with. I don't like the plastic window over the VR switches and will be cutting it out I think. I hate scratches in my gear and I will still continue to purchase these for my lenses (this is the trial one). I do think the protection is pretty good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from useful product It helps protect part of lens. I didn't put the part for covering the switches of the lens, it is not convenient for lens switching. Lens hood coat is not quite necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent protection I just spent over $1600 on this lens and want to keep it in good condition. My LensCoat will help do just that. Most of the surface area that can get scratched up is covered by access to all the controls is not sacrificed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cheap way 2 protect your investment I shoot as a stringer for a local paper, the equipent I use is my own. My lens got hit by a yard marker the first night that I had the lens out, there wasn't a mark on the lens anywhere. The first mark I put on a lens really bothers me, this way I will put the pain off a little longer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from everyone enjoys borrowing my lense It could be psychological, but it seems easier to handle the lense - albeit its part of the Nikon fitness program. Function switches do work with clear cover however it takes practice Everyone who has used my lense enjoys the cover. Tighter fit would gain a 5 star rating

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks cool Looks cool. Fits well. It is nice and soft to help protect the lens from bumps and scratches. The quality of the seams are not the best - rate it a 7.5 of 10. I would have expected better seams for the price. Also, the material can easily be torn and overstretched.
