Canon CLI-8 reviews

CLI-8 Ink Tank 8-Pack is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 248.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected in Canon Printer These original Canon CLI-8 ink cartridges work well in Canon printers using the whole spectrum of Canon paper. They are reliable, don't leak and don't clog. The only issue is the small quantity of ink included and the high cost. Clearly Canon sells printers at a low profit margin, and them makes up for it with overpriced, low-capacity ink cartridges. Although there are much lower cost cartridges available, most do not provide quality printing, often leak and even risk damaging you printer. These are consistent, and are what all the Canon paper profiles are calibrated for, so are ultimately the best choice for no-hassle printing if you don't mind paying the high price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Performance I would not trust any other inks in my Canon Pixma Pro 9000 Printer. They consistently give impeccable results with no problems. There is never any ink clogging, or smears resulting from the inks from these cartridges. I always am assured my photographs will print professionally with the use of these inks. I would not dare to use substitute products after having enjoyed the incomparable quality these inks have provided me. Cartridge life may be a little short, but its a small sacrifice for the quality that is provided. The use of these cartridges is a little expensive for simple document printing. They are best used in the printing of high quality photographs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Canon original CLI-8 Multipack as expect It's hard to judge these inks until you have seen a variety of prints, made on different paper, age over a period of time under a variety of environments. I have been disappointed with my BCI-6 inks on cotton. If left in sunlight, they fade very fast. Glass helps a lot. Coated paper holds better than cotton rag, but in sunlight they both fade fast. I don't know whether the CLI-8 is any different. I suspect that it's just a different delivery cartridge, using the same ink. Out of the box, the freshly printed CLI-8 pictures on cotton rage look just as they should. Time will tell...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product, Great prints These cartridges in combination with Canon's Pixma Pro 9000 Mk II printer produce brilliant color images and stunning B & W prints. Using Canon's pro photo matte and pro photo glossy paper, I've never been disappointed with the quality of prints. Beware that you will need to have extra cartridges on hand as depending on the frequency and size of images printed, these cartridges do not last very long! I print only a few images at a time but have noticed that the ink seems to run out fairly quickly, especially given the 8 cartridges required for the Pixma Pro 9000.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for. My printer (Canon Pixma Pro 9000) like most other high quality printers has a tendency to use up a lot of expensive ink, in this case (Canon CLI-8 cartridges). After surfing the internet for a cheaper solution I purchased a generic brand for about half the price. Not long after using these generic cartridges I began to experience problems while printing. Sometimes there would be discrepancies in color or sometimes an individual cartridge would die on me altogether. Oh well. I tried. So at least for now Canon is the only reliable High Quality choice for picture prints. I do however use the generic ink for everyday tasks. My reason for only three stars is due to the price only. I guess Canon will never give us a break here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 8 Colors but Really only 6 Used I use this ink with a Canon Pixma Pro9000 Mark II printer. I use the printer to print portfolio pages. The ink is very good quality when used with good paper so I have never experimented with lower cost inks but because of the price I have been tempted. When I print I use very little red and green ink so if you are using the same printer you may want to hold off and order ink once you can determine your useage by color. If the is a 6 tank set without red and green (sometimes available for Canon i9900) then this might be a better deal. Buying the entire set of 8 is about the same price as purchasing 6 locally for me. I find it bothersome that the tanks for the i9900 don't work on the Pro 9000 Mark II ... they seem similar. One of the cartridges sprayed ink when I snapped off the cover ... this has never happened in 5 years with a i9900 cartridge.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Printer ink - fast delivery We had a lightning storm that took out a number of electronic devices (all connected to surge protectors) but the Canon Pro 1 powered up fine. When I went to print all (12) ink tanks were blinking empty. I've never seen all tanks empty at the same time so I figured the printer was brain dead. Called Canon support (still within the warranty period) and they suggested replacing all the tanks. I wasn't sure I wanted to spend $360 for the experiment but Canon said if that didn't solve the problem they would ship me a new printer for free and pay shipping both ways. Couldn't lose so I got on-line to B&H and within 48 hours I had my ink and the printer came back to life. Kudos to Canon and Kudos to B&H. Bought the printer from B&H last December.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value package price Used in a Pro9000 Mark 2. Clear prints, no clogging. They hold up well (do not dry out) if installed and left unused for longer periods of time (weeks). Granted these are not pigmented inks like those used in the Pro9500 which do dry out fast after installation under limited use. Red and Green tend to be the least used colors in my experience (as well as from reading reviews elsewhere on the net), but as a multipack price these two colors ended up being free when compared to the total cost of buying each tank in the multipack individually.
