B+W 66-1001702 overview

  • 1Description

The B+W 62mm Clear MRC 007M Filter is a simple, clear filter with a 1x filter factor and is designed to provide general protection for your lens. This optically clear filter does not affect overall image quality while helping to reduce dust, scratches, moisture, and other elements from damaging your lens. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections while providing over 99.8% light transmission, each glass surface includes eight layers of anti-reflection coating. This Multi-Resistant Coating (MRC) also offers greater protection to the filter substrate and helps it to stay clean for longer than with uncoated filters.

B+W filters are constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and color fidelity. This filter features an F-Pro brass filter ring for durability as well as jamming prevention.

62mm Clear MRC 007M Filter is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 23.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best! I protect all my lenses with one of these B&W clear protect filters. Solid brass housing.. they never bind .. Ultimate coatings and the best glass are used. I clean the filter after every shoot. I hardly ever need to clean the front element on the lens itself. The cost of the filter is well worth it considering these lenses run $1000-2000 each.. After years of use, the glass in my lenses is still pristine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from B&W - Just a well made product I currently own a number of filters from various makers and I keep on returning to B&W for the quality of their products. Only a couple of manufacturers still insist on building their frames from brass. Just remember that when it's cold outside and your aluminum framed filter is stuck on that expensive lens of yours.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from High Quality Clear Filter I bought this filter for protecting my Pentax 18-135 lens. I wasn't concerned about UV, so I just wanted something for protection with as little effect on image quality as possible. It just barely fit on my lens inside the lens hood; I don't know if the extra wide version would fit or not. I don't see any significant vignetting with the filter. The filter is absolutely clear. When it is clean, you almost can't see it so you need to be careful because you will see the lens element behind it but might not see the filter. The protective coating does make water bead, making it a little easier to wipe off any water or cleaning solution. No problem so far attracting dust; seems to stay pretty clean. The filter feels solid. It is black painted brass with the B+W name on the outside, but not the filter type on the outside, so it can be hard to identify the filter if you store them in a stack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Protect your lens! Each lens I own has a dedicated protective filter. I take a lot of pictures at airshows, and any type of dirt/debris kicked up by propwash is a serious hazard around optics. I don't notice any difference when I am using it, which is exactly how it should be. Simply put, protect your investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from clear filter Easy to mount or take off. Seems to be more resistant to dust than the lens on the camera. Easy to clean and doesn't seem to interfere with the photos taken, even amongst the dust of Philmont's backcountry for 10 days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality Filter B+W filters are great. The glass doesn't rattle in the mount like cheaper filters. Brass ring never binds up on the lens. I've tried several different brands and B+W is now my go-to for lens protection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice replacement I am shedding all filters for my three cameras' lenses and purchasing only B+W Clear. UV and Sky have color tints and cause shifts in color when I shoot the same scene with different lenses or camera's.
