B+W 65-069701 Overview

  • 1Description

The B+W Push-On Lens Cap #300 model is their 'standard' unit, and has a slightly convex front surface to prevent the inside of the cap from touching the glass of your lens when it is tucked away in a bag.  The sides are their 'standard' depth, to fit on normal lens barrels or standard-style filters, and this particular unit has a 54mm inner diameter.

B+W also makes a 'shallow' sides model, the #305 model, to fit on slim filters, and a more common snap-on cap.

It isn't an exact science due to all the variables involved, but generally a push-on cap that is 2-3mm larger than the lens' filter size fits just right.

#300 54mm Push-On Lens Cap is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Too snug for Canon G9x. The 55mm is a better fit I ordered this 54mm push-on lens cap in hopes that it would fit my Canon G9x, but it was not the right fit. I could just barely get this cover over the lens, but it was very snug and difficult to remove. I eventually found that the Kaiser 55mm push-on lens cap DOES fit the Canon G9x. These push-on lens caps are great for protecting the lens and preventing dust on point and shoot cameras, therefore I still rated it 5 stars. I recommend ordering 2-3 sizes for your camera and return the ones that do not fit. FYI, if you have a Canon G7x, the 58mm is the right size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits X1 Leica This B + W (Schneider) cap, (SN 223-25 inside the cap; 54 MM, 300, 69701 on the box) fits over the Leica X1 knurled ring. I have no idea if it is safe to use on X1 (instead of the supplied pinch-type lens cap) or if any other 54mm push-on cap will fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Job Needed a push-on cap for a 135mm Fujinon enlarging lens that I am using on a bellows for macro photography. This cap works fine. I only wish that I had chosen a 53mm for a tighter fit. This plastic stretches enough that a one to two millimeter subtraction from the measured diameter is advisable. The price seems a little high for a small piece of plastic. However, it is inexpensive compared to a ruined lens surface.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite cap This fits perfectly on the B+W 52 mm filters (and also many other 52 mm filters I have tried. I use these in other sizes with my other small and medium format lenses, and they work well to protect your lenses. They fit snugly and comfortably, and I never have to worry about them getting dislodged or falling off in my bag. They also don't feel as rattly or loose as pinch style caps do. The only thing about these is that you have to measure the outer diameter of whatever you need this cap for since it fits on the outside instead of hanging off the inner filter threads. The advantage is that it will work even if your lens or front filter has no internal threads or if the threads are recessed. The front is domed, so even if your front lens element is flush with the lens barrel it will protect your lens. If you're tired of pinch style caps falling off or not fitting well, I recommend getting one of these. They're really good, and I only use either these or custom SK Grimes caps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great lens caps. I have two of these and use them to cover old Yashica lenses that had no caps. They push right on and fit tight, so I know they will not fall off. The material is very durable as well. They do exactly what they should, protect the lens, but they do it very well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Perfectly I put an adapter DMW-LA6 on my Leica Dlux5 and put a 52 mm ND filter. Although the cap is for 54mm lens; it fits on my camera like a glove. The cap is Made in Japan though, not made in Germany as it is written. But it's still a good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grea lens cap This lens cap fit my Fujifilm camera S2980. The camera came without a lens cover leaving the lens open to the elements. All other camera that I owned had lens covers to shield the lens. I feel a lot better now that the lens is protected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best push on lens caps offered today I do not care for any other type of lens cap except push on quick to put and take off Hands down this is the best brand on the market
