The white Snowball from Blue incorporates Blue's revolutionary Ball microphone design with the added convenience of a USB output. The USB output allows an audio signal to be fed directly to software-based recording applications without unnecessary preamplifiers or hardware. The Snowball incorporates 2 separate capsules to give you a choice between cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns.

The cardioid polar pattern has a more focused pickup and generally "hears" whatever the mic is pointed at, while the omnidirectional pattern picks up sounds in all directions. The sensitivity and signal character of the Snowball result in outstanding clarity and detail while capturing vocals, guitars, drums, and more at CD-quality rates of 16-bit/44.1kHz. A -10 dB pad switch provides added headroom and minimizes distortion when capturing audio at excessive levels. The mic comes complete with a desktop stand and a USB cable so you can begin recording right away.

Snowball USB Condenser Microphone with Accessory Pack (White) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 261.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional Mic I use this Mic to record videos for YouTube, and selected this version because the Omnidirectional pattern works well for the times when I have to record more than just myself. It works pretty well, obviously requiring some tuning of the final audio for use, but it records a nice enough sound that I can adjust the audio that I record with it without the sound messing up. It is a bit bulky, but it does at least look nice if the bulkiness causes it to show up on screen when doing my videos. Also, people have reviewed this saying that it does not require drivers- that is obviously false, but it does install the drivers on its own, so you don't have to mess with that part of setting up the Mic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mic This is a great mic for its intended use. I do a fair bit of studio recording and so am familiar with some good mics, but I got this mic to use at school for podcasting and sampling and to produce radio spots and commercials. It's grrreat...sturdy, clear, great construction. Bass isn't exactly thumping but that's not what this mic is about. Also, the plug-and-play functionality works great...have tried it with windows, mac, and even linux...sonar producer, garage band, cubase, and audacity. Super easy with all and solid results. I wanted a decent quality, well-built USB mic for simple use, and I'm happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for podcasting. I started a completely amateur podcast with my friends and for the money, this mic does the job. Whether I'm just using my voice in the cardioid mode or setting it up in the middle of a convo in omni mode, it works as advertised. Very easy to use and plug and play. If you have any experience with computers and minimal experience with garageband or a similar audio production software, it should be easy for you. The tripod stand could have been better utilized and really isn't tall enough, but stack it on some books and it's fine. I'd definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for an easy to use multipurpose usb microphone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Great I use this for recording voice over for video and radio. If you are in a noise room it will pick up some of the room noise. A controlled room or one with less noise or normal noise It does a great job. Clearly picks up my voice and on playback it's a very nice sound. size of a softball, and for me to feel comfortable transporting it safely I bought a Pelican 1400 case to hold it in, and it fits nicely inside. The only down grade is if the air vents in your room are noisy or you have external drives running near by you will pick them up on this mic. If you can control that, this is a great USB mic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing This far exceeded my expectations. Truly plug and play. Sound quality is terrific. The other day I had a meeting in a U-Shaped classroom with about 15 people. Brought in one person via videoconference through my laptop. We had the audio out from the laptop connected to the sound system in the room and was solely relying on the Blue Snowball as the mic. Using setting 3, the person videoconferencing in had no problem picking up all the conversation going on in the room. In fact, the next day we had a teleconference using the standard Polycom audioconferencing unit, and the Blue far surpassed that!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome microphone! This product is amazing. I bought for the purpose of pod casting and it works unbelievably well. I haven't tried it out for music yet, but i'm sure it will work with music maybe not the highest quality, but an amazing quality. The only part of the microphone that I do not like is that its a little heavy and bulky. With that con aside I would say this is the best microphone for its price range. If your budget is a little higher then i would suggest the At2020 or the yeti. All in all this microphone works amazingly well with music and pod casting. If you are having trouble with it, don't be smart and say you can do it without the Instructions, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Me! I was a little hesitant to buy this mic, as I was clueless about studio or pro quality microphones. I can tell you now that Blue did a FANTASTIC job with this little Snowball! I use it to record myself on guitar, and with this thing I can hear every little pick movement and slap of the hand on the wood. I love this thing! And actually, I'm using it to create some TV commercial voice overs, as well. It does the job great. The 3 choices available on the mic switch are all good in their own way. The one with the -10db pad on it is good for V.O. work so you can get close to the mic. I might recommend a pop filter, but other than that, this package is all you need!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple, high-quality, easy to use... I use the mic primarily for podcasting. I have two (usually one for each person speaking), and have been exceptionally pleased with the quality. I was skeptical that the quality would be of the same level as professionally-recorded audio, but am happy to say that I was wrong: with the right room and setup, these mics sounds as good as any pro-audio interview mic I've heard. The design is attractive and simple (a single USB port and switch), and the plug-and-play ease of use is wonderful. The mics were heavier and slightly bulkier than I anticipated, but I'm willing to live with it given the price and quality.
