Leupold keeps their successful tradition of delivering state-of-the-art sport optics alive with their persistent attention to detail, precision and quality. This American optics company, located in Portland, Oregon, pioneered the process of nitrogen purging to waterproof riflescopes in 1947. Since then and to this day, Leupold continues to develop new technologies, and use advanced materials to push the envelope to produce some of the world's finest sport optics.
The 1.5-6x VX-7 Riflescope from Leupold might seem to look familiar with an initial glance. However, the VX-7 series of riflescopes are not merely rehashed & upgraded versions of older optics. Instead, Leupold went to the drawing board and put down ideas and requests from hunters and outdoorsmen. The resulting designs yielded a sighting system that incorporates cutting edge technology, state-of-the-art materials and designs, and good old fashioned common sense.
This particular VX-7 scope features a low to midrange zoom; excellent for hunting in dense wooded areas. Should your target wind up in an open field some distance away, the 6x magnification will help you make short work of executing a well placed shot across all but the longest of distances. The 30mm main tube and fast focus eyepiece give the VX-7 a European profile and enhanced performance. Older style adjustment knobs will seem difficult to use after one experience with the Speedial knobs on the VX-7. The integral caps eliminate the fussing with and eventual losing of covers while the solid feel of the 1/4 MOA click adjustments instill a feeling of security & confidence.
In order to successfully engage your target you must have positive sight acquisition. Extreme weather, lighting and temperature will have no impact on your sight picture. High tech solutions have been applied to counteract the negative effects of these age-old issues; the Xtended Twilight Lens System with DiamondCoat 2 ensures the finest view possible regardless of the conditions while Krypton/Argon gas purging of the main tube ensures water and fogproof performance. All these fine features and many more are all backed up by Leupold's lifetime warranty and their new VX-7 Custom Care Package. Performance and durability with a lifetime guarantee, what more could you ask for?
To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and rings attach to your scope. By affixing the scope-mounted rings to the rifle-mounted base, you create a reliable, accurate and secure sighting system. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.
