Boris FX BLUEREDU Overview

The Upgrade Red to Composite Suite for Windows from Artel allows owners of previous versions of Red to upgrade to the composite suite at a reduced cost when compared to buying the full version of the software. The suite contains the popular Blue and Red software programs.

Blue is a standalone application that allows you to create 3D text and shapes with pixel shaders that include bump maps, noise patterns, natural materials and reflections. The software also allows you to manipulate and warp 3D objects using OpenGL.

Red is an integrated 2D and 3D compositing, titling and effects application suite. Red is designed specifically for editors and features advanced 2D and 3D compositing, sophisticated titling, paint tools, rotoscoping and a full suite of vector objects. The software works as a plug-in that is compatible with popular editing software from Adobe, Apple, Avid, Canopus, Media 100, Pinnacle and Sony.

Particles
Blue allows you to use any 3D object as a particle, giving you the ability to create interesting particle effects with custom 3D objects.
Enhanced Extrusions
The software allows you to create custom bevels using intuitive spline drawing tools. You can even import models using the 3DS and OBJ file formats for extrusion.
Deformers, Image Processors and Generators
Blue uses vertex deformers to produce true 3D warping of objects. These effects utilize hardware acceleration for amazing output.
Materials including Bump Maps and Reflections
The software features an enhanced texture engine that allows for pixel-based texture, bump and reflection mapping. Taking advantage of hardware acceleration, these features will bring your 3D graphics to life.
Sophisticated Animation Made Fast and Easy
Blue features many tools to make your job as an animator easier. These include "type on containers" and the "motion path filter" to give you more control over 3D animations.
Red
2D and 3D Compositing
Red is designed to complete advanced 2D and 3D compositing tasks. The software features support for unlimited layers, high-quality keying, masking, mattes and apply modes.
Advanced Features
The software has many advanced features to help streamline your workflow. These include motion tracking, corner pinning and image stabilization features as well as vector paint and rotoscoping capabilities. Red even allows you to intersect any 3D shape including planes, spheres and extruded text.
Filter Library
Red includes 164 video filters, giving you flexible choices in modifying the look and feel of your video. It also features over 110 standard filters that include a wire remover, film grain filter and match filter.
16-Bit Color OpenGL
The software supports video at 16-bit color, allowing you to work with video for broadcast and film. It features a raster paint engine, a subtitle import feature and OpenGL accelerated effects creation and playback.
