Vortex is dedicated to the development and production of unique optics with features that allow you to see the world more clearly. Their commitment to supporting efforts in the important areas of land conservation, wildlife and field habitat keep them in tune with the environment and outdoor enthusiasts worldwide.

The Vortex 3-9x40 Diamondback Riflescope is built to endure, perform, and excel. Its one-piece center-tube design is carefully constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum, and fitted with a precision adjustment system that allows for a generous amount of correction. The optical system is fully multicoated for a fine line of sight, and the entire assembly is then purged with argon gas for flawless all-weather performance.

The variable mid-range magnification of a 3-9x40 scope is extremely flexible; the balance of power against the efficient 40mm objective offers hunters excellent twilight performance with a comfortable sight picture in open fields and dense woods.

To use a riflescope with your firearm, you'll need a mounting base and mounting rings in addition to the scope itself. Bases attach to your firearm and rings attach to your scope. By affixing the scope mounted rings to the rifle mounted base you create a reliable, accurate, and secure sighting system. Proper spacing of the rings, as well as the ring height should be considered to ensure a proper line of sight can be established. This will maximize the value of your investment, and enhance your shooting experience. It should be noted that in many mounting applications, a professional gunsmith's skills will be needed for proper installation.

3-9x40 Diamondback Riflescope is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Quality! I have owned and throughly abused my diamondback 3-9x40 for about 4 years; its been rained on countless times, dropped as a result of sling malfunctions, its been frozen solid in -30(-22F), and even covered in mud from being strapped onto ATV's. I am thoroughly impressed. The glass on my diamondback is clear as day, the magnification ring is smooth, and aside from exterior scratches and scuffs the scope has held up wonderfully and is always bang on when it counts. Being a student this scope was at the top of my price range but DEFINITELY worth every dime. I have nothing but good to say about it. Vortex has gained a costumer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality I was recently bore sighting several rifles in low light. I was shocked how much brighter the diamondback was compared to a 3 other much more expensive scopes I had mounted. 3-9 is also a great range of power.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small price, but doesn’t feel cheap Had this for over a year now and never had an issue. Never lost zero ever though I may have dropped it once or twice. Extremely well put together for the price range. You can’t lose with optic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Be rougher on Vortex products due to the warranty Last year I had an old (15+ years) scope break on me. After going to the store and looking at a bunch of different brands, the sales employee recommended Vortex products because they are high quality and Vortex has the best warranty out there. The 3-9x40 is a great scope and very clear. I am holding patterns at 100 yards that are all touching holes with my 12ga. This scope also holds light very well and never have to quit hunting because of limited light on a cloudy day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stands the test of torture! I bought this scope for my 12 ga slug gun. After getting it dialed in, which took no time, it was time for the woods. I killed my biggest buck to date this past year way way back in the woods on a military refuge on a Sunday evening. If you know refuge hunts, you know you have to check out by a certain time. Which just so happened to leave me an hour to get him dressed, back to the truck, 3/4 mile from my setup, and to the office. So god knows I was in a hurry, with no cart, me and my partner took off dragging. My gun was dropped a blue million times on the long drag back, fell down into a ravine, was beat off trees, knocked around beating off my climber on my back, absolutely tortured, along with my shotgun. When I got the chance the following day I wanted to shoot it, thinking there was absolutely no way it could be on. To my amazement. It was perfect. The scope itself scarred all to heck, but the glass is perfect and clear. This was when I decided every scope on every gun I own will be a vortex. I currently own 7 vortex scopes and will continue to buy them. Amazing quality, amazing durability, amazing price. What more do you need? To be brutally beat and still hold it’s zero, is amazing. Buy one and be amazed. Side note, it was raining and foggy all evening that day and the scope was soaked for hours, no cloudiness, no fog. Perfect scope

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved it enough to buy it twice I've had this one on my ARX 22lr for a while and I treat that rifle poorly by tossing it into the barrels in competitions, but the zero has held true and the optics remain clear. So I bought it again for my custom AR build. Nice tight groupings when you can see the target cleanly. Most of my shooting on this platform is 100 yards and I have yet to see issues with either scope.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Scope for the Cost Bought this scope to use on my single shot 35 whelen and couldn't be happier. Great clarity and brightness and love the BDC reticle. I have poor vision in dusk lighting conditions and my visuals through this scope in these conditions is a noted improvement over scopes I have that cost three times as much. Great value for sure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect scope for the price I bought a Winchester .243 as a smaller caliber deer rifle for wife to use. I originally had a Bushnell scope on it and quickly realized I needed a clearer view. You can’t beat this scope with any other scope on the market for the price. The clarity on this scope is unbelievable and you can’t beat the warranty.
