Behringer VT999 overview

  • 1Description

The Behringer VT999 Vintage Tube Monster Pedal warms up your instrument's tone with real tube overdrive that can be dialed in at any level you want, from a mild edge to over-the-top distortion. The time-tested 12AX7 tube powers the effect, for authentic vintage tone. A built-in noise gate tames the hiss and hum that comes with high gain, and a three-band EQ gives you a wide range of final outcomes, from mid-scooped metal tones to warm blues crunch to overdriven country twang.

Housed in a rugged metal enclosure, the Vintage Tube Monster is a scary good distortion pedal at an affordable price.

Real Tube Overdrive
No tube simulations here. A 12AX7 tube, the same model that powers much more expensive units, provides warmth and rich harmonics as it overdrives your signal.
Three-Band EQ
Three fat, grabbable knobs control bass, middle amd treble frequencies, for far-ranging control over your final sound.
Noise Gate
To ensure that the tube overdrive doesn't introduce unwanted noise, a built-in noise gate can have its threshold set to match your playing style.

    Behringer VT999 reviews

VT999 Vintage Tube Monster Pedal is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Behringer tube distortion pedal is a winner! This is a super tube distortion pedal, and shockingly, it is both quality, and affordable. Many of the other tube distortion pedals are upwards of two to three hundred dollars. The only complaint I have is, the standard 12AX7 tube that comes with the unit is not very good, and it affects the great tone negatively. I went through five or six tubes till I found a couple that work far better. I got excellent results with a Sovtek 12AX7WA, and even better results out of an electro harmonic 12AX7 preamp tube. I think this is a well designed effect pedal, and an incredible buy for $.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't judge a book by its cover! Bought this as a gift for my bro. He loves it! He has a combo amp with solid state effects. Now he can use this tube pedal to give him that warm vintage sound on his Les Paul without having to buy a new amp!
