Bushnell Discoverer 2.8"/70mm Refractor Telescope Kit

The Bushnell Discoverer Refractor Telescope is a simple-to-use beginner's telescope.  Although a red flashlight and star chart will further enhance your experience, the scope itself is equipped with a "go-to" capacity so that, once you've aligned the telescope to the celestial map, it will give you a respectable spoken tour of the night sky's main attractions.

The 2.8" aperture and refractor design of this Discoverer make it great at yielding high-contrast views of the moon and planets.  It also has a shorter focal length and faster focal ratio than the reflector Discoverer scopes, allowing for wide star field viewing.  The scope arrives with two eyepieces, but accepts normal 1.25" astronomy eyepieces (offered by a host of brands) so you can have a fine selection of magnifications for any object of interest and seeing conditions combination.

This refractor is supplied with a 90° erect image star diagonal, which lets you observe "upright" images through the telescope at a 90° angle to the optical axis, which is particularly comfortable when viewing objects directly overhead.
