Museo 09937 overview

  • 1Description

Museo Portfolio Rag paper has an extremely smooth cotton base (featuring advanced coatings) that is designed for the ultimate museum or gallery exhibit quality prints. The paper is pH neutral and free of acid and brightener, which provides additional archival life to a fine art inkjet or pigment ink print.

Portfolio Rag paper is designed to withstand the ravages of time and handling as it incorporates a flake-free coating optimized for pigment inks and is internally buffered as well. This paper has a heavy weight and distinctive hand that only serves to enhance the strengths of an image printed upon it while not distracting viewers with gimmicks like texture; it is simply one of the cleanest, most crisp papers surfaces to present an image on.

Museo 09937 reviews

Portfolio Rag Fine Art Paper - 13x19" - 25 Sheets is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous B&W prints This is a superb paper for B&W prints. The ultra-smooth surface disappears revealing beautiful midtones and rich shadows. Sharpness and detail are excellent. Anyone who thinks that matte papers cannot equal glossy papers in sharpness is simply wrong. I use an Epson 3880 with ImagePrint driver and gray profile. I can honestly say that I am getting the best B&W prints of my life. I have not used Museo Portfolio Rag for color prints, because of a relatively narrow color gamut (ImagePrint profile again) and questions regarding print longevity, especially with the yellow ink. I do not think that should be much of an issue with grayscale prints.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous B&W prints I have recently been testing Museo Portfolio Rag for fine art B&W prints, and I think it is probably the best paper that I have used for that purpose. The smooth surface essentially disappears leaving the viewer with a three dimensional appearing image with beautiful mid-tones and rich shadows. MPR is OBA free, and the base paper color is slightly warm, but less so than other OBA papers that I have tried. I should mention that I print with ImagePrint, which has superb profiles for this and other papers. I have not tried printing color images on MPR and probably will not use it for that purpose, as soft proofing with ImagePrint profiles suggests a rather narrow color gamut. Nevertheless, for matte B&W prints, which comprises most of my work, it is superb.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice paper I used the paper for a self-portrait project which I loved because the warmer color enhance the skin on my black and white print. Paper was also great because I could print like normal on my 3800 without having to manually feed it. The only down side is that I received bent paper my first round and had to exchange for a new package...so maybe that was not so much the paper, but the shipping...just be careful and aware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I will buy this product again This paper was extactly what I expected. I'm printing digitally in color and then running a letter press over the printed photograph. So I needed a paper that was smooth enough to show the image clearly and keep the vibrant colors, but also course enough to absorb relief ink from the letter press. Also the relief ink dries pretty fast on portfolio rag so this was a great choice. Kind of pricey but what art supply isn't?
