Rode PSA1 Reviews

Pretty solid boom arm!

This is a well built boom arm that moves pretty easily when need but holds firm. It pairs nicely with Rode NT-USB Mini USB Microphone & On-Stage MBA1500 Boom Arm Riser with Headphone Holder. I would recommend!

Don't be seduced by off-brand boom arms for less. This is strong, versatile and does exactly what it needs to do. I tried to cut costs and picked up something cheaper before this one. I regretted it immediately as it broke the first day. The Rode PSA1 is a beast and should be a no-brainer.

Great microphone boom arm

Before I got this, I just had my mic sitting on my desk. I'd slide my mic off to the side when it wasn't in use, and slide it back in front of me when I needed it. The mic's cord got in the way of things, and the mic took up a lot of desk space. Now, with this arm, I just need to push the mic up and bring it back down. It's so much easier, and saves so much desk space!

Smooth and Silent

I am using this product to hold my HyperX QuadCast microphone for work meetings throughout the day. The weight and feel of the materials is indicative of its quality, and it easily holds the weight of the microphone. I am using the clamping mechanism to attach it to my desk (as opposed to drill-mounting) and the base has yet to move/slide from its original location. The movement back and forth is smooth....REALLY smooth - there were some reviews commenting about a scraping sound but I have yet to experience that. The tension is easy to adjust and it holds the microphone exactly where I need it throughout my meetings.

The Chosen One

After researching and comparing the pros and cons of other boom arm, I have chosen this one. It's solid and moves smoothly across my desk whenever needed.

As long as i have a microphone at my computer desk, this will be the arm that holds it. very smooth, stays where it needs to be.

Love this boom arm for my Rode Podmic. Looks really nice, and more importantly, is super smooth and sturdy. Well worth the price!

Holding tight so far. Easy to reposition mic. Quality Boom Arm. Only design flaw is cable management. The arm is hollowed out to run a cable through but requires cutting and resoldering the cable. Just use the Velcro ties. Not as pretty but much more functional.

Can a reflection filter be attached to this; if so which one?

I have a screen filter attached to mine, so I think any screen filter would work, or a lightweight reflection filter that has a clamp type bracket.

Yes. We’ve got five of these now and have used them with several different types of mics. Connections are fairly standard across the industry. These boom arms are rugged and well worth the price.
