question

Is this steadicam a good option for the Ursa mini
Asked by: Jim B.
The Steadicam Pilot-AA Camera Stabilization System works a payload of 2-10lbs. The URSA Mini is 5lbs and a light lens like a Rokinon 14mm is 1.2 lbs. = 6.2lbs. In that situation, you will be fine. However, once you start adding accessories, (since the Mini is heavier than a DSLR which is more what the Pilot-AA is meant for) you may start bumping into restrictions sooner rather than later. You may wish to consider a heavier duty Steadicam.

question

I have the Steadicam Pilot-AA system and I want to use a Sony NEX FS700, but I cannot figure out what type of connection I need to run from the camera to the Steadicam screen. I've tried the BNC cable that came with my camera, but the Steadicam just show no signal on the display. I've read that it might be a problem with HD-SD, but I am stumped. So, how do I get a signal from a NEX FS700 to the Steadicam Pilot-AA?
Asked by: Wayne
In these situations, the usual culprit is mismatched video signals. Make sure you know what the camera is putting out (paying close attention to 1080i or 1080p) and then making sure the monitor is set the same. That should do it. If you have continued issues, please contact Steadicam.http://tiffen.com/steadicam/

I purchased the steadicam pilot for my black magic cinema camera. I have also purchased the ikon title cage for the black magic. Problem: The cheese plate on the steadicam does not match up to the ikan base plate or the black magic cinema camera. I then purchased a quick release recommended to go with the steadicam and it does not align. I have searched the web for a resolution and find absolutely nothing. Please adivse?
Asked by: Mike
Hello Mike,I shoot with the Canon C100 and do not have a black magic camera so I cannot answer your problem. I have contacted steadicam with some problems I had and got answers from them. Hope you get it working.
