Night Owl Optics takes pride in providing you with consistent, top quality products. They maintain their position as an industry leader in night vision technology by integrating state-of-the-art concepts and designs into all of their night vision monoculars, binoculars and flip-up goggles.

Night Owl's iGen 20/20 Day and Night Vision Monocular takes the world of night vision to new levels with a new technology, and a stunning form factor. Instead of relying upon ubiquitous intensifier tube technologies, Night Owl has incorporated an extremely sensitive video capture system into the iGen 20/20.

This versatile monocular can be used 24/7 without compromise. When ambient light-levels prohibit clear detailed viewing, simply adjust the variable frame rate to enhance the light-gathering abilities of the monocular. The integral IR illuminator features a smart-circuit that automatically adjusts to accommodate ambient lighting conditions.

The iGen 20/20 features a mid-range level of magnification, making it an excellent choice for outdoor viewing. Its simple yet dynamic form factor offers a secure grip for both right and left handed users, and the controls are easy to locate, intuitive and very accessible.

There are many different variables that affect the distance that one can see with a night vision device, among them the object's size, the level of details being sought from the object and the conditions of observation. Night vision devices detect much further under a full moon and clear skies than they will under a new moon and cloudy skies. Many different formulas are used to determine the statistic of maximum viewing range and this varies by manufacturer, so ultimately the generation of the intensifier tube is much more relevant than any quoted statistic when determining the maximum viewing range.

All night vision devices sold by B&H have mechanisms in place to protect the intensifier tube from a sudden burst of bright light, but this does not mean that bright light doesn't damage the device. No matter what, bright light in any form is not good for the longevity and performance of image intensifier tubes.

Good Product as well as Service

The IGen 20/20 does just what it advertises. It certainly matches the generation 2 model and in some aspects surpasses it with its border to border clarity and vision without the IR emitter on a full moon night. All this at 1/3rd to 1/4th of the cost. BH Photo is an honest and reliable store with excellent service. John

Exellent Night Vision, better than Gen2, good as some Gen3

I use this NV on the Arizona Border doing Civilian Border Watches and it performs very well. I have used Gen 1,2, &3 and I really prefer the Digital. You don't have to worry about bright lights, and the black & white mode shows better detail to me. The auto IR mode works great. In 1/4 moonlight and above you can turn the IR off.

Great Value

Did quite a bit of research on night vision technology and was quite surprised by the reviews for Night Owl technology. I am very familiar with video cam infra red quality and low light night technology as well as image quality. The iGen 20/20 is superior in all aspects and very easy to use.

This night vision monocular is simply amazing. What you get for the price you could not beat. All I can say is I am so glad that I found the Igen 20/20. You cannot go wrong buying it.

I cannot tell you how amazing this monocular is. I am speechless. It is worth 3 times more for what you get. Just buy it, you will not be disappointed. Thank you who ever made this. Also have to say B&H are super professional. Enquired about monocular and got a reply that same day and also a invoice set up if I wanted to purchase it. I was so impress dealing with B&H. Wish we had a company like this here in Australia, thank you B&H

It is good but has limitations

It is a nice night vision monocular in general and worth its price. It shows images on a display screen and therefore it is a digital equipment and cannot be compared to military grade phosphor night vision devices. It is not suitable for astronomy and particularly for astrophotography but it is good for terrestrial observations. Duracell batteries provide with a better performance. Attaching a VGA recorder is possible for capturing images and videos.

Probably the best available in digital, but not the cheapest

Highly sensitive and the exposure control (FPS) a real plus. Battery compartment will close only with difficulty over Eneloop Pro rechargeable batteries, since Alkaline are slightly less in diameter, and the tolerances on the battery compartment are tight. Unbeatable for the price.

I need an adapter or a step down ring to attach IGen to Celestron T-Mount Adapter. Could you recommend an adapter please?
Asked by: Levent
Unfortunately I cannot. The Night Owl #NOIGM3X cannot be used to take photos with a camera. It has a video out connector that you can use to shoot videos with. The Night Owl #NOIGM3X-IC is the ONLY night vision device with Picture-Taking Capability.

Does this model have a port for image capture?
Asked by: Ian M.
Three answers already submitted confirm that it has an RCA connector for video (and if the video has still image capture) then it will do that as well. I have not tried it but plan to ----John

if it has sd card can it take pictures
Asked by: Anonymous
Not this version. There is a more expensive version with SD card socket that can take photos and vga video. You need to use an RCA cable to transfer image into a capturing device if you buy this version.
