3/8" to 1/4"-20 Tripod Reducer Bushing is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These always come in handy. These little adapters are really handy for video and film production. I use a baseplate system for attaching accessories such as matteboxes, marshall monitors, and other stuff. These little adapters allow me to save money by purchasing items drilled for 3/8 but if I need to attach a 1/4 stud in there, I just attach an adapter and go. If I need my 3/8 hole back, I just take the adapter out. Also handy for attaching microphone shock mounts (which are usually 3/8 holes) onto 1/4 studs. I have a bad with all kinds of adapters in it , and this one is a necessity to have in there. Pick up a few, you'll be glad when the need arises. -p

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Small and Essential Problem-Solver I have several microphones and other pieces of equipment that I need to mount to tripods fairly often, so I have a good number of these lying around. It would seem silly to think a small metal bushing could be made cheaply but so many are. NOT THIS ONE. It's proper steel - you won't bend and curl the metal over time screwing this in and out of your mic clips. If you know how annoying a stripped screw can be you can imagine what it's like having one of these strip-out and be stuck in your mic clip forever. For those of you who care, rest-assured this one is quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product I bought this to mount a Manfrotto 3-way head to my Dolica monopod. It did the job. Note the bushing sticks out maybe 1/32 of an inch from the bottom of the head, so the head and base of the monopod are not flush. It does not seem to make a difference as there is no wobble in the head, but that was something that I was trying to avoid by buying this bushing vs. the Manfrotto one which clearly stuck out the bottom of the head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ... I've got a Vanguard Alta Pro tripod (VAAP263AT) with a view to utilize it mostly in macro shots. Yet, for other purposes I wanted to use my old, favorite Manfrotto joystick (MA222). Well, but there I was, facing the issue with different threads. (Don't you just hate it that so many nice accessories don't go together?)....It works very well - my Manfrotto joysticks screws on the legs nice and tight. Yet, I have no problems changing heads (sometimes I use a Vanguard head with corresponding thread).I'm very happy that such a reducer exists...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It fits perfectly like custom made! ... found the right joint parts for my SLIK monopod 350 and Benro DJ-80 tilt head. Without this bushing, the 2 won't join together. ... This piece although is small but is very important! Without the sales help, I will not know the name and the parts. So I really thank the B&H sales people!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the trick Very compact, only a few threads, but it holds tightly. Only problem i had (and it's probably unavoidable) is the lip on the bottom. It makes it impossible to use the friction you'd normally use to keep things secure between the tripod head and the base.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple solution that works I tried finding another solution at a local fastener store, with no luck. This piece works perfectly to put a 3/8 tripod head on a set of legs with the 1/4 stud. The height is even correct, so the head sits flush. I recommend buying this part.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it says it does. This reducer bushing does the exact same thing as some brand name models that cost 10 times the money. I actually bought three because ...Makes my 3/8 Bogen head fit my 1/4 monopod and it is a good, snug fit.
