Stroboframe 300-SLR overview

  • 1Description

Cameras mounted to flash brackets of any brand tend to twist or rotate on the camera mounting screw. Cork or rubber friction pads help, but the real solution is to use a camera-specific Anti-Twist Plate. They act as an interface between the camera and bracket, pin-register to the bracket and conform to the camera's baseplate. This locks the camera to the bracket to prevent twisting. Because there are so many camera configurations, Anti-Twist Plates are sold separately.

Please see this link for a list of compatible cameras.

NOTE: Camera Anti-Twist Plates are not compatible with QuickFlip models.

Stroboframe 300-SLR reviews

300-SLR Camera Anti-Twist Plate is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Flash Bracket Owner's Must Have If you have a flash bracket you HAVE to have one of these. Photography can be a fun and rewarding expereience, or a very large point of frustration if it ain't your day. If you own a flash bracket and do not have an anti-twist plate on it, you can look forward to a lot of it ain't you day events. There's enough to worry about, (ISO setting low or high enough for light situation, white balance set correctly, composition, etc.)without having to constantly re-adjust the camera on the bracket because it loosened up. Again. For the ?th time. If you paid for a flash and a flash bracket, why save the $ and not get this? This is really cheap insurance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary accessory for CB-200 Speedy Bracket I bought this plate several months after I bought the Vello CB-200 Speedy Bracket (for my Nikon D7100) because the cork pad provided with the bracket didn't do the job after a while. This plate - which is alluded to in the instructions for the bracket as being necessary in some cases - should be included with the bracket, or possibly engineered into it somehow. It is essential for keeping the camera from twisting during operation. It so far seems to do that just fine. I initially installed it over the cork pad because I didn't want to scrape the cork pad off, but may eventually have to scrape it off because there is not enough room for vertical positioning with the battery grip installed on my D7100.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Needs Improvement in my opinion It was recommended I use this product and so I ordered it with my stroboframe bracket. Personally I think the anti-twist plate should be included WITH the bracket but anyway.... I find attaching this bracket is very difficult on your own and not something you want to try in a hurry. Its very difficult to hold the bracket, position your camera on the screw, and try to hold the plate in position so it doesnt slip around while your trying to attach the dang thing. Very frustrating indeed. Unfortunately it's something needed but I thing the makers need to go back to the drawing board on this one.....Why would you not include this automatically on the bracket so it wouldnt be so difficult????? It also needs a little pouch or something to put it in for packing with your gear so it doesnt scratch anything. Construction seems to be fine but it's a frustrating little piece to attach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a MUST HAVE item. The anti-twist plate is a must have item for the Stroboframe Camera Flip Flash Bracket. The camera stays in line with the flash, right where it is supposed to be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from threaded screw wll not fasten I bought this to use for mounting a Nikon D7000 to a Stroboframe flip bracket. First thing wrong was that the small threaded screw that comes packaged with this twist plate that screws into the top of the flash bracket's camera platform could not be used. The receiving hole on bracket's platform was poorly machined threaded and wouldn't accept the small screw. So actually it was a problem with the flash bracket not so much with the twist plate, but since the are both products of Stroboframe I'm reporting it. Anyway, the small screw was discarded and I used some super glue on the 2 twist plate pins and clamped dried it to the camera platform. The glue did the job of securing the twist plate to the platform. However, once the D7000 with a 28-70/f2.8 AF-S lens (5 1/2 lbs total)was mounted I noticed the overall weight was causing some moderate twisting and that was frustrating. The flash bracket came with a piece of pre-formed self-adhesive cork that was supplied to be used on the camera platform for added grip in lieu of a twist plate. It probaly would do the job if a much less weighty camera/lens combo were being used. However the thickness of the cork and twist plate together added too much thickness for the length of the mounting screw to thread into the camera's receiving hole. However, I was fortunate enough to have had a piece of rubber with the proper thickness laying around and glued that onto the twist plate. That did it !! It added the extra friction needed and right now I'm totally satsfied as there is no twsting at all, but had to do some addn'l tasks to get there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and would purchase again Finally purchased the anti-twist plate for my stroboframe and am so glad I did. Had been having issues with the camera twisting whenever I would use the stroboframe and it got extremely frustrating. I tried to fix the issue myself with a new cork base and velcro but nothing would work so I purchased the anti-twist plate and had no issues at the wedding I did this past weekend. Wish I would have bought it sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as advertised The anti-twist plate keeps the SLR body stable on the Stroboframe bracket and once attached doesn't need to be readjusted. Strongly recommend this instead of the cork mounting pad that comes with the brackets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have accessory A must have accessory for my Pro-RL flash bracket that keeps Nikon with larger lens from twisting out of place during weddings. Simple and easy to install and requiring no modifications when using D-700. I would also recommend the flash Anti-Twist plate for the SC-29 when securing the sync cord to the Pro-RL flash bracket. This keeps SB-900 in alignment.
