Trailblazer Monopod is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smells awful, and it works This monopod is being used for filming at a summer camp, and is holding up pretty well. It's lightweight and sturdy enough to get the job done, though the black paint on it does scratch pretty easily. Smells of petroleum when you first get it - the bag it comes with also stinks, but if you air it out outside for a few days the smell goes away. Telescoping locks can stick a little bit, but are overall easy to use. The retractable spike at the bottom works, but the screw mechanism in it easily gets clogged with mud and sand - cleaning it out isn't too bad, though. The foam grip is holding up fairly well, but some small holes are developing in it. Overall, a decent monopod for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even better than expected. Light enough for hiking and tall enough for a 6'5 guy like me. Built solid, and for the price, a must have for any serious outdoor photographer. Great footing for indoor and outdoor photos.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handy and light I seldom use a monopod. But they sure are handy when you need them. If you don't have room to set up a tripod or you need to move around quickly between shots the monopod can be the tool that keeps your shots steady. This tripod is very light and portable. Being over 6ft. tall I love that it extends to a hieght I can use without straining my back. As little as I use a monopod I can see me getting many years out of this one. However if you will be using yours everyday. You may want to invest is a more heavyduty build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product, and in versatile terrains I do everythihng from Urban Exploring, street, and wildlife/landscape photography. I have had this in water waist deep, slimy stormdrains, rocky paths, and it has yet to fail me. I use either a Nicon N90, or D100 on it, and they work fine. THe only issue I have had, is that you have to hold it steady, as being a mono-pod, it does easily tilt or move if you are not careful. But that would be true with any Mono-pod.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good, but Smelly It works great and seems sturdy enough to also use as a hiking stick, even though it weighs only a pound. Smooth sliding leg, positive leg locks. The height is 68 inches, perfect for my needs. But, the case and grip smelled so bad that I had to keep it outdoors for 2 weeks. Finally, I cut off the grip material and replaced it with a sport wrap. The case has been soaked several times but still smells and is still outdoors. I will soak it once more and then toss it. The smell is like a heavy gasoline-diesel mixture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Monopod I use this monopod for taking pictures of my son's football games. It works well with my Cannon EOS Rebel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth more than the cost This monopod is perfectly suited for my photography needs without breaking the bank. It holds my DSLR with a dual battery case along with a 5 pound 600mm Telephoto Zoom Lense. The best part is that it folds up into such a small package that I can cary this and my tripod at the same time with no extra weight to carry around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a bargain! I needed something to use with my 7D and 18-135 and this worked great. Light enough to leave on the camera and carry all day, yet sturdy enough to support the camera & lens (easily). Construction was solid and it was easy to expand and contract... even came with a nice case.
