    Counterweight - 3lbs is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not just for microphone stands I looked for quite a while for a pair of counterweights to attach to the handles of my video tripod to try to balance my 15 lb. binocular telescope. While the tripod and video head are adequately sturdy, the head lacks any counterspring, so when I point the binoculars up, they want to point straight up - instantly! A counterweight attached to each handle would do the trick. There are telescope counterweights that would probably work, but they were either the wrong shape (short but fat), too heavy/bulky, or overpriced. I stumbled on these online, and they are just right for my application. And they are way cheaper than telescope weights. My only concern is that the little nylon ball on the end of the screw won't last. They got flattened the first time I used them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Arrived defective I usually buy Manfrotto, but liked the sleek black design of this. It arrived with a manufacturing defect that would prevent it from sliding onto the largest diameter pole it's intended for. I'm returning it and getting Manfrotto, never had a problem with anything they make.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy these again, highly recommend them. I really had no need for the 11 lb Celestron weight and some one told me about these. They fit right on the weight bar and you do not have to remove the safety knob at the bottom to install and remove them. With the 3 lb and the 6 lb, I have all the weight I need right now, Plus they are smaller around, so you can move them all the way to the top and not worry about hitting anything on the mount. The lock knobs have a soft plastic or rubber tip, so it will not mark up the bar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great counterweight for home studio mics I have a few recording mics on booms that are always off balance and ready to fall over. I love these mics and I keep them in very good condition. Installing the counterweight on the other side of the boom with a simple twist of the provided screw makes a budget micstand so much more useable and dependable. The 3 pound weight is perfect for most large diaphram condensers. Money very well spent! B&H prices and shipping are so competitive. Very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from hunk of metal and a screw Works well. A little expensive for what it is; but the quality is decent. The tip of the set screw has a nylon end so it doesn't mar your mic stand. However, I bought three of these and the nylon tip came off of one of them. I just use a little piece of rubber. This little device keeps you from over-tightening your boom; so your boom will last longer. Highly recommended. In a world of high tech.. this is kind of refreshing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it works perfect for my large condensor mic. My mic has a long body and weighs the boom arm of the stand down causing the tightener to weaken. This weight does the trick and fastens snug to the other end of the stand. I had a 6lb but that was way to heavy. It's a solid piece of metal. It isn't going anywhere, ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small Counter Weight works great. Purchased this as a a additional weight for the Insight Boom: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/514784-REG/On_Stage_CW_3_Counterweight_3lbs.html Works great and can be attached to the bottom of my light stands if I need additional weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple counter weight I us this as a counterweight for lighting on a boom and it reside on studio light stands for extra weight in the studio when not on a boom. Does what its supposed to and has a wide gap to fit fairly large tubular sections.
