Will this work on an old Slik Sprint Pro GM tripod?
Asked by: Kathy
According to Slik, yes, the hed on the Slik Sprint Pro GM tripod is removable. To remove the tripod head, raise the center column up a few inches (so you can get a good grip on it with one hand) and lock down the knob on the ball head. Now, holding the center column with one hand, unscrew the head counterclockwise. This will expose the ¼-20” thread post on top of the center column, onto which you may then connect the Slik SH-705E 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head.

A reviewer mentioned that the upper tilt on his doesn't lock? Is this an oversight by him or is this true?
Asked by: Jeff B.
I did not keep the SH-705E 3-Way Pan/Tilt Head, because it did not fit the tripod as I had hoped. I am sorry that I could not help.

question

Will this work on a SLIK Insta-Lok 800G-FL?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Insta-Lok 800G-FL was not designed with an interchangeable head, so the SH-705E will not work on this tripod.

question

Is there other system that uses the same quick release plate that the SH-705E uses? I have a tripod with this head, and would like to have a quick release (without the levers) just to add things (like a focusing rail, etc) on the tripod, and add a quick release to that. (similar to the DQ-20)
Asked by: Laurie S.
This quick release plate can be used with the Able 300DX Tripod Head, Pro 330 DX, Pro 340 DX, Pro 400 DX, Pro 500 DX & SH-705E heads.
