question

will this work on the D7200 as well?
Asked by: Ed C.
No. You need the Nikon MB-D15 grip for the D7200. This grip is only meant for the D300 / D300s and D700 bodies.

question

is this grip really half the weight of d700 body...?
Asked by: babur k.
It adds some weight, but honestly...it's not that dramatic. It really helps if you shoot with f/2.8 zooms as it helps balance things. It does however, increase the overall size in height, so you might have to arrange your camera bag to accommodate this.

question

How do you switch from one battery to another without removing the grip from the camera?
Asked by: Barbara S.
For the battery inside the camera, you can't unless you remove the grip. For the battery grip, you twist the locking tab on the left side and give the battery tray (inside the grip) a little tug and it slides out. From there you can replace / swap batteries. When you have a grip attached, you don't really mess with the battery inside the camera.

question

Were I to purchase this alongside a D700, would the whole setup still be as weather-resistant as the D700 alone?
Asked by: Alex C.
I believe that it's still weather-resistant. Although the camera is built in Japan and the grip is built in Thailand. Not sure if that makes a difference for you or not. The D700 is still a wonderful camera and it's what I use.
