Makes shooting easier
Frankly, the extra battery power is great, but I don't need it for the types of photography I do... but that extra shutter release makes vertical shooting a breeze. I am shooting basketball right now for a local paper. All the shots tend to be vertical, which means I don't have to crank my right elbow in the air to reach the shutter. For me, that alone justifies five stars. And it's a Nikon product, so you can't go wrong on quality and durability. Also, it doesn't add much weight to my shooting package. Keep it up Nikon... and B&H!
What I was hoping for...
I realize there are third-party manufacturers who offer very similar products for the D700/300/s camera. However, after buying one of those in the past, and having it fail on me on the first day of use - I finally bought the Nikon MB-D10. I am very pleased with the fit and finish, as well as the way it helps me have more grab-ability with the D700. I do not always have the grip on the camera, but when I need the ability to switch between landscape and portrait and keep button functionality, as well as having the extra battery power, it has come in very handy. Is it worth the extra $$ to buy the Nikon grip over a third-party brand? For me it has been well worth the investment.
Not Sorry for Getting the Nikon
Not much to say. I bought the Nikon Grip and not the lesser expensive knock off and I am not sorry. The quality is what I expected from Nikon and I did not want to take a chance to save a few, well a chunk of change. It really make handling my 300s easier when the 80-400 is on it.
Pleased with purchase
Great quality, practical, does the job. Used with Nikon D700.
Nikon MB-D10 Battery Grip for D300s
This is a first for me ... Great for vertical shots ! For longer power availability too ! Very well designed for a precise fit. Adds weight for better balance with long lenses. I don't know how I lived without it before !!!
This is my second MB-D10 & is for my spare Nikon D700 body.
The MB-D10 Multi-Power Battery Grip is an absolute must for anyone using the Nikon D700, especially as I do for wildlife photography. With the MB-D10 attached, one essentially now has a Nikon-D3. First, one now has a vertical grip with separate dials & controls properly positioned for vertical shooting. Second, using the EN-EL4a battery, you now get 8 frames/second on the continuous setting which is a must for wildlife work. Also, I can use up two 32GB cards without changing the battery, a real bonus in the field. I just got my second MB-D10 for my spare D700 to save switching it over from one body to the other.
Can you get any better?
Great grip, feels very solid.
