First disappointing purchase ever from B&H

- Box came damaged and not in a protective shipping box, rather, just the manufacturer’s box that one would get off the shelf with a packing label on it. - Item came with a damaged cable clip. Not repairable. - Boom arm won’t hold its position regardless of how tight one locks it, it slowed falls until it’s leaning on the piano. Very disappointed.

This stand will stand the test of time!

We use this stand in our ADR, Foley, and Voice Over stages, and it's great! The heavy die-cast base makes sure this thing will not be tipping over, regardless of how far you need to extend the reach of the boom arm. Not even bumping into it affects its balance. Grade A quality beef right hurr!

Good sturdy stand for a fair price.

This studio stand is considerably heavier than stage-style stands (that's a good thing). The tubing is larger than normal and the locking sleeve is metal rather than plastic (unlike the stand from another manufacturer I'm trying to get parts for right now). The vertical posts are 1.20 and .90 in diameter and tighten/lock securely. The boom is much thinner though at 0.63 and 0.50 in diameter (about the same as my stage boom stands). But it's longer than most and reaches out nicely for a vocalist, keyboardist, or drummer (for the rare singing drummer). Works nicely with a 13 drop stem. The base is heavy and stable, plus it's fairly compact so you won't trip over it as easily when drinking heavily. The counterweight on the boom ain't all that, but it's better than the fake plastic counterweight that you find on most stands. It measures <3 long x 0.60 in diameter so how much could it weigh? Get a 3# accessory weight if your boom will be fully extended. One more thing, the boom pivot is of the rubber-washer-clamped-between-smooth-plates design. You really have to CRANK it down to hold the boom up tight. But so far it's holding up well (gorillas beware).

Good stand for the bucks

Quite heavy base, reasonable weight on boom. Does the right thing with my heavy LDCs, so it's a win.

Sturdy and flexible

I have an odd-shaped room and the hex stand makes it possible to position everything comfortably.
