Sony DT 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 Overview

An ideal everyday tool, the DT 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens from Sony is a relatively compact APS-C format option that covers a vast wide-angle to telephoto range equivalent to 24-157.5mm. This A-mount lens features a maximum aperture of f/3.5-5.6, helping to keep size and weight to a minimum, and the optical design incorporates one extra-low dispersion element and two aspherical elements to combat aberrations and increase sharpness and contrast. Also, it has an auto clutch mechanism that prevents the focusing ring from rotating when autofocus is engaged while an internal focus design enables fast, responsive AF. Additionally, it uses a seven-blade circular diaphragm for smooth bokeh.

Designed for APS-C cameras, this lens provides a wide-angle to telephoto zoom range equivalent to 24-157.5mm.
A maximum aperture range of f/3.5-5.6 helps keep the lens relatively compact while providing control over depth of field.
One extra-low dispersion element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations while two aspherical elements control spherical aberrations for improved clarity and sharpness.
An Auto Clutch mechanism prevents the focusing ring from rotating when the lens is set to autofocus, allowing for easier, and more natural feeling control over the lens.
An internal focus design helps optimize the autofocus system for faster, more reliable focusing. It can also focus as close as 15.7" with a maximum magnification of 0.23x.
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality when employing selective focus techniques.

question

Does this fit in a5000? & if so is this a good lens for mainly portrait use/ more everyday pics?
Asked by: kari l.
The Sony 16-105mm f/3.5-5.6 DT Standard Zoom Lens has the Sony Alpha/Minolta Maxxum mount, while the a5000 has the Sony E-mount. So, the two would not be compatible.

question

Does this work automatically with a Sony a6000 or does it need an adaptor?
Asked by: R
it will not. You need an A mount to E mount adopter. Here you go. <a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1008166-REG/sony_laea4_a_mount_to_e_mount_lens.html target= _blank >http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1008166-REG/sony_laea4_a_mount_to_e_mount_lens.html</a>
