Hahnemuhle FineArt Baryta Reviews

Excellent Photographic Quality Printing Paper

This is my favorite inkjet printing paper. It produces the maximum tonal range with rich blacks and crisp whites for color or B/W images, especially after spraying the print with Hahnemühle Protective Spray. The details are well preserved. There is no better quality paper to use. Within this type of paper, several other choices for the finish are available. Hahnemuhle makes several other high quality printing papers to suit the desired finish of the most demanding photographer.

Lustrous and Thick

I love this paper. I have used the FineArt Baryta Satin also. They are both quality papers that print superbly with a slight gloss. I finally decided I like the brighter white a bit more. Also love the Photo Rag.

Disregard that last response...I had last purchased the Photo Rag Matte 308g and responded to that. The OVA content listed for the FineArt Baryta Paper is listed as "Moderate" https://www.hahnemuehle.com/fileadmin/user_upload/pdf/dfa/Datenblaetter-Oktober2015ff/FineArt_Collection/Datenblatt-FineArtBaryta.pdf

A reviewer mentions that this is glossy paper, but is it glossy or more like a semi-gloss?
Asked by: Jack
It’s thick paper similar to lustre in the gloss aspect. Only when you move it around is when you see it shine. It’s my favorite type of paper. This is the only kind I use.

question

Hello, I am looking to buy an inkjet paper to print in black and white. The paper texture I am looking for is very similar to the old traditional Ilford paper rigid and the texture like pleached, interwoven, I don't know how to explain but I have a picture I can send to you. If you zoom it you can look at the texture I am talking about. Could you please help me? Regards, Carlos Herdocia

Baryta paper is very similar to the Ilford Multigrade darkroom paper in both texture and thickness. Since I am a former darkroom printer, this is my favorite paper because of its resemblance to the Ilford Multigrade paper.
