Keeps my BenQ HT-5550 securely in place. Adjustment is easy and stable. I haven't used the pipe threads but I plan to after I remodel my living room. It's nice to have a quality piece of gear that I should not ever outgrow.

Works great

Got this for my Epson 4010 and it works great. Everything you need to mount a projector to the ceiling is in the box. It installs with two screws, and the mount can be installed with the screws either parallel or perpendicular to the screen, depending on which way your ceiling joists are going. Once installed, the mount is very solid, even with large and heavy projectors. The microadjustment knobs are very nice. You can't adjust yaw except by loosening the mounting screws and twisting the mount, so spend the extra couple minutes to make sure you are aimed at the screen before tightening everything down. I did so and got it dead nuts on the first try. I am aware of the other oft-recommended mount, but in my opinion it's overkill for 95% of home PJ users. This one hits the sweet spot between quality, affordability, and ease-of-use.

Simple to install

It works quite well but takes a few moments to digest the instructions, but generally if you have a pole like I have, you screw the one piece to the pole, attach the arms to the leg area of the projector(lower piece) , and turn it upside down and hang the project to the pole using the second piece. Now, mind you, it's two piece assembly, legs on bottom piece; controls on top piece. top piece screws to poll, bottom piece attaches to projector, bottom and top slide together, awkward at first but it works, then you turn in a screw so they can't slide apart. The risky part is when bottom with projector attached slides into top piece. You put in a screw so it cant slide out once you get them together. The arrow points to front of projector where light is.

Ceiling mounting a heavy protector can be tricky. For years I’ve been accepting the fact that mine would never be 100% aligned, which is a hard pill to swallow when you’re attempting to recreate your favorite high quality movie theater experience. This product solved multiple issues within minutes of getting all the hardware installed. I added an extension pole to get it to my desired height, and shizam... the projector slid right into its counterpart attached to the extension, tightened it down in seconds, and after getting the projector as level as possible on its own, I used the fine tuning adjustments on this device (others have raved about here, and rightly so). Perfectly even lines all around the perimeter of my 120”, 2.40:1 CinemaScope screen. Pure delight now. I can’t say enough about the build quality and ease of setup (assuming you understand that no setup like this is easy, and a lot of the math, science, and trial/error had been done with the original installation- but had I had this product to begin with, it would have cut everything in 1/2.) One if the best investments I ever made. I know that’s a grand statement for such a seemingly simple product, but it is so well thought-out and engineered, and made such a positive impact in the overall experience in my theater.

Something you really need to simplify the alignment of the projector to the screen if you want to make it perfect. The tilt and elevation adjusters can get you spot on with little fuss. The mounting arms are very adjustable however they tend to suit projectors with a large distance between the mounting bosses vs projectors that have them close together. Not saying that they won't work in that situation, but you need to be a little creative in some instances.

Great projector mount

I used this to mount an Optoma UHD60 projector on an ceiling extension pole. This mount makes it easy. The spider leg attachment slides off the top portion (it is held in place by a screw-in pin). The universal spider attachment allows you to position the legs in almost any position. Screw the top portion onto the extension pole (or it can be mounted directly to the ceiling) with the arrow facing the screen. Attach the universal adapter to the projector, then slide the projector onto the top portion. Secure it with the screw-in pin. Very easy to adjust tilt and roll using the geared adjustment screws. Once everything is properly aligned, use the set screws to secure everything. This is probably the best ceiling mount there is.

I know this is often just a case of me not knowing my own strength but for a mount this expensive it should not be so easy to strip the screws with a simple allen wrench.

question

I just bought a Projector with mounting holes that are 8 apart. I have an existing threaded shaft attached to the ceiling but the plate on it is to small. Can i replace my plate with this and will it extend to 8 ?
Asked by: Anonymous
No, it will not. The furthest it will extend is 5 . But it is easy to use and has great pitch and yaw controls.

question

What is the minimum distance from the ceiling to the projector?
Asked by: Nur S.
It depends on the pipe fitting to use for this mount. Yes it's a universal mount but you'll need to mount it to something. I always use a flange with a pipe fitting. Distance from ceiling to projector is whatever distance you need it to be.
