Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy! This inexpensive purchase was an impulse buy for me. It's pretty terrific! It's easy to use, and makes a simple task of an easily forgotten process -- doing a white balance now before every shot is painfully simple. And not having to muddle with white balance in post is a great, great thing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Quite Well Seems to do the job in a variety of tough lighting situations -- including mixed fluorescent/incandescent. Tried a very expensive professional white balance cap for comparison; and there did not seem to be a huge difference -- though I'm sure there was one. Comes with a plastic screw-in adapter ring which fit the i.d. of my 58 mm B&W UV filter; but I don't use it because the WB cap fits nicely right over the outer diameter of this filter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good and affordable I'm still a beginner and when the instructor of my class said to buy a white balance cap, she showed her Lally Cap which looks really cute and is very versatile but is a bit pricey. Since I only have one lens so far, I decided to go with this option. It still does what I need, it doesn't take up too much space in my camera bag, it's easy to place on the lens. And best of all, it was in my price range.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Threads don't fit well, but does the job I use the product to get a quick overall white balance of a scene that has competing light temperatures; otherwise I use a gray card. It gets accurate color, but the poor quality of the threads makes it difficult to keep on the lens. For as quick as I want to have it on there, though, I can just hold it. The price is great to have this little device in your toolbox.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from White Balance Cap This lens cap works very well with my Canon GL2. Using it mean it is no longer a 2 man job to white balance and I don't have to worry too much about inadequate light between me and my subject. One small problem I encounter is having to take off the Lens protector to screw in the WB Lens Cap but it still takes less time to white balance than before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product, very useful Lens cap slips over my A650 adapter tube. Just point at a light source and do a custom white balance action. Very simple. The equivalent item goes for over $50 at ..., this is a case where spending more is not necessarily better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I wish I could agree! I got this hoping that it would help correct white balance under changing light conditions. i.e. Sunsets, evening sports, and mixed lighting indoors. What I found was that even with the custom white balance mode of the camera, the colors were still not right. I got much better results using a standard grey card. Inside I found it almost totally unusable, I assume because it absorbed too much light. Even with a 1.4f 50mm lens, my camera was not able to adequately determine the white balance unless pointed right at the light. But this then excludes the light from the other sources in the room. i.e. windows, lamps, fluorescent. At sunsets, I got horrible results. I had better success setting it to tungsten light. And better still when I used the old grey card. Though these complex light conditions proved too difficult for it, it did fine with otherwise standard conditions. i.e. Strong flash, outdoors in bright sun. This is why I gave it two stars, because I suspect that most people who are looking at this may be looking for something to help under normal lighting conditions. In the end this is not as useful for me as I had hoped so I am returning it. I recognize that these are particularly challenging light conditions, and that was why I was hopeful. For me I'd rather spend the $ on something else. Hope this helps people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from White Balancing made easy This filter makes a perfect size white balance easy to find, without having to hunt for the right shade of paper or wall. The rest of the photographs have a good Color balance, when the custom white is properly input. This filter has already come in handy dozens of times.
