question

Does this lens have front filter threads? If so what size? A reviewer has mentioned that this lens can be used with front filters despite the protruding front element.
Asked by: Anonymous
The lens itself, like virtually any fisheye lens, does not have filter threads. This is a matter of the physics in the designing such lenses. The reviewer mentioned that this Sigma Cap Adapter for a Sigma 4.5mm f/2.8 B&H # SICA48672 allows a 72mm filter or lens cap to be mounted. If you go this way, watch out for filter vignetting.

question

Will an a77ii produce a fisheye effect with this lens?
Asked by: Timothy
Thank you for your interest in Sigma products. Two things that you need to keep in mind. 1- This is a Sony A-mount lens and you 'll need an adapter to use this lens on your Sony A7 (E-mount) camera. 2- This is a DC lens and it's designed to create a circular picture for APS-C size sensor. for your Full-frame camera, I recommend the Sigma DG 8mm Circular Fisheye (which projects a larger circle for larger sensors) withe proper adapter for E-mount): https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/440665-REG/Sigma_485101_8mm_f_3_5_EX_DG.html?sts=pi
