Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye Lens for Nikon DX Digital Cameras
Key Features
  • Rectangular-Image Fisheye Lens
Specifically designed for digital SLR cameras equipped with APS-C size image sensors, the Sigma 10mm f/2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye Lens is a lens that captures a rectangular 180° view in all directions. The diagonal field of view of this fisheye lens produces striking images with exaggerated perspective and distortion.

The minimum focusing distance of 5.3" (13.5 cm) and maximum magnification 1:3.3 allows subjects to be as close as 0.7" (1.8 cm) from the lens' front element. This close focusing capability allows close-up photography and also it is possible to make use of large depth of field that covers wide range of subjects. Even the most familiar and mundane of subjects can be portrayed with startlingly fresh new expressions through exaggerated perspectives and unusual distortion effects. Well suited for academic and technical measurements such as solid angle measurements, cloud cover measurements & virtual reality.

DC lenses are exclusively designed for digital SLR cameras. The image circle (rear of lens) is made to match the smaller dimensions used for the image sensor on digital cameras. As a result, these lenses are also more compact and lightweight, and are better matched to digital SLR cameras.

Shoot in DX mode if using full frame

This is a great lens! I first used it with a Nikon D7000.Very sharp, clear photos. Went to use it on the new Nikon D600, and in full frame(FX)mode, you get the built in lens hood in the shot. So if using on a full frame camera, just switch it to DX (crop)mode and you'll get great results. That's the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Would be great if fully functional on full frame cameras. Overall, fantastic lens for the money.

Really nice fisheye for the money! Haven't had a chance to use it a lot, but heading to the Keys in a few weeks and it will get plenty of use. A friend recommended this lens to me.

Really fish(eye)y!!!

This lens is perfect for shooting landscapes, horizon, star-trails or simply just about anything. The closest I have come to this lens is 3/4th of an inch and it produced tack sharp image of the focal point - my eye lid. Does a perfect job in Macro mode whilst producing an exaggerated perspective of the surroundings. Unlike some Sigma lenses that are known for suffering from softness at certain points, even prime lenses, this doesn't! A 180 degree coverage on Nikon and every corner is tack sharp! and f/2.8 makes it okay for low light if you have stable hands. HSM works good, works harder and faster. Harder in the sense it doesn't struggle but consistently tracks the subject. Instantaneous response. Lens cap is one of the best things I love about it - You can either have the shell on and take the cap off for ball effect or take the whole thing off for 180 degree coverage(Nikon mount). For what it's priced at, it's worth it!

I would recommend this

using it with Nikon d 800 in dx mode and Nikon d 200, works great on both cameras, super high quality optics in my book I've been waiting to buy this fisheye lens for a good while.

It is good, nice fish eye lens.

I was looking for a Nikon fish eye lens for my Nikon D5100. Nikon did not have a fish eye lens for a DX body with a built in focus motor (AF-S). I decided to try the Sigma. It is a good lens, but not quite as good as a Nikon or Canon L lenses when it comes to build quality (I shoot both Nikon and Canon). Image quality is very good, auto focus is fast and accurate, but a tad noisy, nothing to worry about. Takes gel filters mounted on rear mount. Looking for a good fish eye lens, I would not hesitate to buy this Sigma lens.

Great for those Unique Perspectives

I love this lens for the powerful images it can produce with Architecture, Arenas, Landscapes, & even creative portrait shots. This is not intended to be an every day Go To Lens. This lens feeds your need for your artistic flavor. Definitely a keeper!! I only wish I had it sooner! I can think of shots I have taken and wished this lens was in my bag. Some will say this is a heavy lens, and yes it has a lot of heft. But it is necessary for this type of lens that has this much glass.

So many options
