The Pelco DX8132-1000 is an industrial grade DVR capable of delivering the level of performance and reliability expected in critical security establishments like financial centers, retail stores, casinos and government facilities. While loaded with the features and function expected of a high-end DVR, its most important characteristic can be said to be its upgrade capabilities. As a business grows so does its security requirements. Instead of having to purchase a new DVR to meet growing needs, users have the option of upgrading this existing DVR by adding accessories like audio input/output boards, memory upgrade modules, additional video I/O channels and an external RAID disk array.
Step Up Features From DX8000 Series DVRs
Upgrade options are in the form of circuitry boards and external boxes and among other advantages can be used to add multiple channels of audio, additional storage capacity, more memory and more video channels.
Backwards Compatible with DVR8000 Units
While offered as an upgrade unit, the DX8100 is fully compatible with DX8000 DVRs. Any type of external controller or software developed for the DX8000 can also be used with this DVR. The DVR8100 can also be used in a mixed environment with DX8000 units without causing any incompatibility issues.
Super Fast Recording Speeds
Video is recorded at speeds up to 480 IPS across all 16 channels, and at a resolution of up to 704 x 480. Faster recording speeds eliminate jerky video movements, resulting in properly defined images as well as less eye fatigue for an operator viewing long hours.
Support for Third Party Domes Via Optional Keyboard
PTZ dome cameras from different manufacturers can be controlled alongside Pelco Coaxitron domes using the optional KBD300A joystick controller. This allows facilities containing older PTZ domes from different manufacturers to upgrade their DVR to this feature rich model without having to replace their existing cameras.
Ability to Daisy Chain 5 DVRs
Five DX8100 DVRs can be connected together in a server-to-server configuration, resulting in up to 100 simultaneous client-to-server connections. An operator can then view up to 36 cameras on a single screen. This potential is even more fully realized when used with a super large monitor such as Pelco's 700 series of DLP monitors. The KBD300A will also come in handy here, giving an operator fingertip control for selecting cameras and camera view sizes.
Direct Connection to ATM/POS Devices
When connected to an ATM/POS device, this DVR will record electronic transactions such as credit card swipes along with video. This is an extremely important feature for banks, retail stores, ATM kiosks, casinos and numerous other applications requiring the ability to search for text as well as video. It can also be used to trigger recording at the same instant as the occurrence of an out of ordinary cash register activity such as a void or missed scan. This will eliminate employee sweet-hearting and other such actions, assuring that cash register receipts and register contents add up at the end of the day.
Hidden Camera Function
Any camera or group of cameras can be selected to record in the background without actually appearing on the monitor. This prevents a potential perpetrator from figuring out camera locations by studying cameras and their orientation on the multi-image monitor.
Full Duplex Operation
With its built-in multiplexer, video from all cameras can be viewed, recorded and played back by both local and remote users simultaneously with no degradation in image quality or performance.
Built-In DVD Burner
A built-in DVD burner is one of the most important things to have in a DVR. It provides an easy method for transferring short term event footage to an optical disc for archiving purposes or for quick viewing on a PC.
An SVGA (15-pin VGA) output allows video to be displayed in super high resolution on a computer screen or projected on a wall using an SVGA video projector.
Adjustable Frame Rates and Resolution
Each video input can be individually adjusted for frame rates and resolution. This allows a user for example to set a camera that is being recorded, at its highest resolution while using a lower frame rate for cameras in display mode or vice versa, depending on an application.
A motion detection function, fully configurable for area and sensitivity, can be assigned to each camera input. Motion detection not only alerts an operator to suspicious activities, but when used to trigger recording, makes it a lot easier to locate event footage.
Alarm I/O Ports
Optional external sensors can be attached to this DVR's alarm I/O ports, to trigger alaems or to activate devices following an alarm occurrence.
Rack Mount Ready
The DVR ships with rack ears and will readily install in a standard 19" EIA rack (4 RU high).
