The AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone from Audio-Technica is designed for vocal and general instrument capturing in project and professional studio environments. The capsule features a low-mass, side-address diaphragm with a cardioid polar pattern for rejecting ambiance and noise at the off-axis sections of the microphone capsule. A linear frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz enables the flexibility to accurately reproduce signals from a wide variety of sources. High SPL handling and wide dynamic range allow the AT2020 to capture loud signals with minimal noise and distortion. The microphone includes a pivoting, threaded stand mount for accurate positioning.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Getting Started? Get This! My friend and I have been using his MXL 990/991 pair for amateur recording. I figured it was time to get my own condenser mics, so I went with this and its brother, the AT2021. So far with my experience, this mic is a good all arounder. I've used it not only for vocals, but for acoustic guitar, cajon, other percussive instruments, etc. I place this off-axis from my guitars sound hole, and the AT2021 a couple inches from the 12th-14th frets. Been happy with the sound quality. There are defintely other, more expensive options, but if you're getting started, get this.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has been a GREAT mic for Gaming, Streaming & Teleconferences I was done with headset mic setups so went in search for a good quality Condenser Microphone that would meet my Gaming, Streaming and Work Teleconferencing needs. After a lot of research and comparing the AT2020 with mics from Yeti and Razer I was confident in choosing the AT2020. The quality is better than I expected, I often get a sound check from coworkers and the response is always one of disbelief that I am using a Condenser mic on a boom over my monitor - the sound is crystal clear and with no interference or noise. If you go with the non USB model,, make sure you match the XLR cables and phantom power source / pre-mixer quality with the quality of this microphone and you will not be disappointed.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine Sound at Economy Prices I own six of these microphones plus a number of AT shot guns. I have used Neumann 87s and 103s and although the frequency response is different, these microphones perform admirably. For stage work (recording plays and musicals) nothing can pull sound off a stage like a Neumann. On the other hand, not having a 3k budget for hardware, forced me to look elsewhere�and the 2020s were a good substitute. They are also a good choice for voice-over work.� The microphone has reasonably high output, that is clean and exhibits very low self-noise. For my money, the AT2020 is a great value. I have never been disappointed by any Audio Technica product!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for female vocals This condenser is a great value for female vocals, even running through a cheap focusrite saffire pre it does a great job at representing the facts. Do some research, and you will see that it has stood up to much more expensive mics in shootouts. Note that by nature side address condensers do not reject off axis noise well, so if you are using it in an untreated environment you might consider a reflection filter. Also plosives will most likely be a problem, so a pop filter is a must. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone.

I paired this microphone with a high quality audio interface, and I can tell that this microphone works perfectly on VoIP( Voice over IP), Podcasting, Dialog and much more, A must-have professional microphone for any purpose where the performance and quality is a factor, and affordable for everyone.     Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good price and good quality At the same session, I recorded two singers together: a man with the Neumann TLM 103 and a woman with the Audio-Technica AT2020 and I cant feel many differences about sound quality. It was a good surprise for me, I was affraid because the price of AT2020 is cheap but the studio performance of AT2020 is really nice and I recommend it.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good sound, Great Value! After much deliberation and comparing many mics within my budget, I decided to go with the AT2020. I was not disappointed. I was very surprised by the quality of the sound produced from this mic especially for the price. I'm running it to my macbook pro through the Icicle audio interface by Blue Microphones and recording using Logic (but Garageband works well too). I use the AT2020 to record my a cappella group and it picks up the wide vocal ranges well. Rich and full low end and warm highs without the shrill. I do strongly recommend a pop filter though, as it does pick up the b's and p's a little too well. I really feel the AT2020 is a leader in this price range and recommend it for the budget studio as well as an all around workhorse for the pros.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from BUILT LIKE A TANK...SOUNDS LIKE AN ANGEL I am the GM of a high school radio station and we have three 2020's and two 2021's. Kids can be tough on equipment but these mics keep sounding great day in and day out. I use them to record with, live talk on the air, and even use them on stage occasionally and they never let me down. Way to go AT!!!
