The LumiQuest SoftBox enlarges and diffuses the light with the flash in the direct flash position. The light is softened and more evenly distributed as it passes through a center-weighted frosted diffuser. The unique design does not block either exposure sensors or auto focus assist beams on most flashes. For use on an individual flash, or to softly illuminate the background in a multiple flash set up.

Ideal for achieving a very soft look with reduced shadow definition

SoftBox for Shoe-Mount Flashes is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for event photography If I had the choice, I'd have two assistants following me around at receptions... one at camera left holding a big softbox, and the other at camera right with a big reflector. But I work solo, so the Lumiquest is a practical solution for off-camera flash at busy events. I hold my speedlight in my extended left hand, and shoot the camera with my right hand. It takes some practice, but it's worth it, because the results are far better than you can achieve with a flash bracket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it is supposed to. I have used this for several weddings/receptions and on numerous ocassions when I needed a more diffuse lighting. I use it for outside portrait work as I also shoot events. For me it works. 'Emergency' 6 person portrait caught me w/o strobes, this worked GREAT! It is plastic and does not fit as tightly as I would like, uses velcro and I put a rubber band around it to help keep it stable, that's why 4 not 5 stars. I've had this one for more than a year and is starting to tear at the fold. Still usable though. I do not leave home without it. It is heavy and large enough that it requires some getting used to. With the new flash units with their built in reflector cards and diffusers I would be reluctant to recommend this product for casual use however.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact and well designed. The LumiQuest shoe-mount softbox is ideal for achieving softer look with reduced shadow definition. It works very well with the diffusion dome mounted on. Its well thought of design allows the AF-assist illuminator and the ready light in my SB-900 to function unobstructedly. It is entirely made of plastic with its sides appear to be cardboard reinforced. Its lifespan solely depends on how well you care for it. The best thing about it is, if not in use, it can be folded completely flat for easy storage. I paid extra for the cinch strap (with its price it should come free with the softbox) to avoid the sticky mess of the velcro patches on my strobe. The trick I did in strapping the cinch strap firmly with minimal possibility of movement (which is sliding back and forth or around) is placing three large rubber bands side by side as a base. Now, I can walk around confidently knowing the softbox won't move even if I accidentally bump it off the table corner. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and the results I get with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesomeness! I'm a professional photographer and bought this with the intention of using it for indoor shots. I've shot this with just the flash & SoftBox Shoe-Mount and the difference of using this shoe-mount vs. just the flash alone, is amazing. Also, I have used it with the assistance of SoftBox Florescent Lighting (2 qty 500 watt combined) and it did BEAUTIFULLY! The pictures were impeccable and plan on using this from now on. This was a cinch to to put together and break down. It's inexpensive and worth every penny. Whether you're an ameteur, photo hobbist, semi-pro or pro...this is a must have in your photography tool box!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good portable softbox I like this soft box for it's size and portability. It quickly attaches to the speed-light. The 'V' configuration is great since it doesn't block the speed-lights front sensor and allows it to do it's job. It folds up nicely not taking much room. Cons: You need to stick Velcro directly on your speed-light hood (permanently) (or purchase additional band if you don't like sticking stuff on your light) It doesn't attached super securely, however its enough for it not to fall off and lets face it, when this thing is attached you're not going to be running or doing harsh movements with the camera. It's pricey for a plasticky product. All in all, a good 'very portable' soft box.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good to have just in case I'm not too crazy about this. I thought it would work a little bit better than it does, but it does what it's supposed to. You can't expect miracles from a soft box this size. As with most LumiQuest products, it folds flat so I generally just leave in it the bag with the rest of the LumiQuest flash attachments I have. It's rare that I need it, but when I do it's just there. Otherwise it doesn't make a big enough difference in my style of shooting to use more often. Obviously, makes a difference at closer ranges if you need to use direct flash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of it's kind! I've tried several soft-box / flash diffuser devices. While most do an adequate job, they have all had their drawbacks. From awkward attachment to the flash, flimsy construction, storage problems or sensor blockage. This product overcomes all of these. It is constructed of a sturdy yet flexible vinyl material. It stores completely flat, has convenient, Velcro attachment and is designed to mount around the auto flash sensor. I love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Flash diffuser I've tried several diffusers and this was recommended to me. I like that one can use it while pointing the flash forward. I didn't like that it cut the light by what seemed like a couple of stops. It works okay, but only at close range. All in all, I like the Demb diffuser better and probably won't use this diffuser very often.
