Celestron Powerseeker 70 EQ overview

  • 1Description

Designed for intermediate users, Celestron's PowerSeeker 70mm f/10 EQ Refractor Telescope is intended to take astronomic observation to the next level by providing a complete set up for viewing the Moon and planets, and brighter deep-sky objects like star clusters and galaxies. Two eyepieces provide 35x and 175x magnifications with a 3x Barlow lens that triples the magnification of each eyepiece for a wider-range of observing possibilities.

Its manual German equatorial mount has precise Right Ascension (RA) and Declination indicators for celestial navigation, and dual slow-motion cables to track your object with accuracy and reduced vibrations. An adjustable-height aluminum tripod provides a stable platform for sky-watching, and the included 90° erect-image diagonal makes looking through the scope more comfortable, especially when aiming the telescope directly overhead. The diagonal's prism corrects images horizontally and vertically, allowing the scope to be used for terrestrial viewing as well.

    Celestron Powerseeker 70 EQ reviews

PowerSeeker 70mm f/10 EQ Refractor Telescope is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Heavy tripod. Two eye pieces. Equitorial mount is easy set up, and you can track planets with twist of single knob. Better view than motorized telescopes which can shake with skewing. Best view of jupiter out of three telescopes costing three times as much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Rig This scope is perfect for day and night terrestrial views. Also gives very nice celestial views. Just want to set up out of the wind since it will be a steadier viewing situation. The image erecting prism works perfectly. Spotting scope aligns itself and is very helpful. B&H gave good value on this rig. UPS got my order in on time and in great condition thanks to expert packing job!
