Celestron 100 overview

  • 1Description

The Celestron Ultima 100 is among a handful of spotting scopes with an enormous objective lens diameter of 100mm, and as such is a large and weighty scope at that. But from dawn to dusk, and everything in between, you will constantly be reminded of that objective lens size as everything you will see will be that much brighter in the viewfinder.

Ultima series scopes feature multi-coated optics to provide exceptional clarity and brilliance. All Ultimas are waterproof, making them more robust than ever before. They perform extremely well under all light conditions, which makes them ideal for all types of outdoor viewing activities including birdwatching, nature and wildlife, target shooting—even astronomy.

The Ultima series now offers the choice between 45° angled viewing or straight viewing. Most users will prefer angled scopes because they are both simple to use for birds perched high above the viewer as well as easily simultaneously shared among users of differing heights. But some will prefer the straight-through viewing models, for these are much easier to use when hunting down the object of interest in the first place. Straight-viewing models are also usually a bit lighter, brighter, and less expensive. The choice is yours.

Built-In T-Mount Threading for SLR Shooting
The scope features a T-mount threading on the eyepiece barrel. This allows it to function as an ultra-telephoto lens with your SLR camera (digital or film), with just the addition of a camera-specific T-mount adapter.
Peepsight for quick initial location of your subject.
Rubber-armored housing.
Smooth focus knob can be turned with a single finger.
No-Fault Warranty
The "No-Fault" warranty coverage assures that your scope will be repaired or replaced at Celestron's option for as long as you own it, no questions asked. The only requirements on the user's end are to ship the scope (at the user's cost) to Celestron with a proof of purchase and a check or money order for $25 to cover the costs of inspection, shipping, and handling. This warranty service is valid only for USA and Canadian citizens purchasing from an authorized Celestron dealer.

    Celestron 100 reviews

Ultima 100 22-66x100mm Waterproof Spotting Scope (Straight Viewing) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate - Made In China Chose this Canadian scope over an Italian Brand. I read a lot of reviews. It was to replace a cheap chinese scope (Saxon) that I was using. The scope arrived - works well but was not as good as I had expected after the reviews I had read. An it is still MADE IN CHINA. I would like to physically compare scopes - because this is not an objective review. I am a photographer - used to looking through ED Glass - so it is a toy compared to those optics and priced accordingly. Its Line Pair resolution is good at wide to mid magnification and declines at 55+. Flare increases with magnification. Either way I am enjoying using it with the children - stress free.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well with a little practice I ordered this for primarily for digiscoping, but I will use it at the range too. There is a little learning curve for photography, but it worked better than I ever expected. My photos of the moon and of the planets are working out well. The real challenge is getting on target and then getting the shot without vibration. Once that hurdle is crossed, good things happen. I put a small sandbag onto the scope to dampen movement, so that helps quite a bit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good to have for my Cannon SLR I'm using it for a month now. I'm enjoying nature watch and digi scoping with it. Before I buy this one, I had Regal 100. I expected Regal 100 is much better than Ultima 100 but I couldn't find any big differences with my eye and Cannon 50D. Picture was great with max zoon than I expected. I'm planning to buy 105mm circular polarized filter for better picture images in daytime.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Celestron Ultima is a great scope This is great for spotting, and astronomy especially the moon. You can actually see the craters on the moon and widlife spotting almost puts you right next to the animal from hundreds of yards away.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great scope at a great price excellent optics. well made. good balance. It is big however. Probably too big to take it in the field. I use it in house on a tripod.
