If you want to use the stand extension to make the Manfrotto 272B cross bar longer, that is not designed to do that.The cross bar can attached to many light stands. Most stands have a 5/8 male stud connection and the cross bar will fit that.

When using the Manfrotto 3-Section Extension Pole (35- 92") (Black) BH #MA099B you need to consider the load your attaching and if it will exceed the stands load limit and if the stand has a welded tip or a pressed on tip. The pressed on tips do not have as much strength for off axis loads. That 1004BAC has a load limit of 19lbs and a pressed on tip.

The thread size is 3/8 I think and it depends on the thread under the camera whether this will fit. But this extension pole has the same thread as the top of a Manfrotto tripod. If the thread size of the camera is less or more, an adapter can be bought to make it fit to 5/5 or 3/4 . Just search for thread adapters on the B&H site. I've gotten them from here. Also, you'd have to use a clamp at the bottom of this extension to secure it somewhere, unless you're going to attach it to the top of a tripod which you can do as well. Hope this helps.
