Covering a versatile wide-angle range, the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is designed for Canon EF-S-mount APS-C DSLRs, and provides a 16-35.2mm equivalent focal length range to suit working in a wide array of shooting conditions. Benefitting the flexible zoom range is a sophisticated optical design, which includes one Super-UD element and three aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, and a Super Spectra coating has been applied to limit flare and ghosting for improved contrast. Additionally, this lens sports a ring-type USM for quick and quiet autofocus performance and full-time manual focus override, and an internal focus design also quickens focusing speeds and maintains the overall lens length during operation.

Wide-angle zoom is designed for APS-C-format Canon EF-S-mount DSLRs and provides a 16-35.2mm equivalent focal length range.
One Super-Ultra-Low Dispersion glass element noticeably reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations for high clarity and color fidelity.
Three aspherical elements limit distortion and spherical aberration in order to realize greater sharpness and accurate rendering.
Super Spectra coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize ghosting and flare for greater contrast and color neutrality when working in strong lighting conditions.
A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM), along with an internal focusing design, is employed to deliver fast, precise, and quiet autofocus performance as well as full-time manual focus override.
Rounded six-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out of focus quality that benefits the use of shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques.

    EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM Lens is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 894.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from "L" Lens performance for APS-c No, it doesn't have an f-2.8 aperture, or metal lens barrel. So what? The lens is lightweight, compact, sharp, very comfortable to operate, with smooth turning zoom and focus rings. It balances very well on my 40D camera body, and only draws undo attention when I have the accessary lens hood attached. Most importantly, this 10-22 wide angle zoom delivers image quality every bit as good as what can be attained with it's full frame 16-35, and 17-40 L series cousins. Add to that the very useful 77mm front filter diameter that allows me to mount my pro sized filters and polarizers, and well, I don't see a down side. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The standard for crop-sensor Canon Cameras The standard for crop-sensor cameras. I've had this lens for 3 years now. It's a little slow, but since it's used mostly outside, that doesn't really matter. And since you're likely to use it with slow shutter speeds and high ISO, also not a factor . it's sharp, internal focusing and internal zooming. No more to say. If you have 60D, 7D, Rebel xxx and want a wide angle lens, this is it. no need to get anything else. If you want anything bigger or faster, you need to get a full frame Canon and some primes or 16-35 zoom. mucho dinero. If you're a pro, this ain't your lens. If you're a shmo, this is your wide-angle zoom, baby!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Image Quality Bought this lens along with a Canon 20D from B&H a number of years ago.? It has produced some of my best landscape images, with incredible image quality and color rendition.? Took it on a trip through the Canadian Rockies a few years back and have some very memorable images to show for it.? Using it now on both my 7D and my 80D and it is still one of my favorites.? Build quality is very good and focus is almost always spot on.? Images taken with it have been printed as large as 14 x 20 with excellent clarity.? Been thinking about purchasing a 5DMKIII, but holding off in part because this lens is an EF-S and I would not be able to use it with a full frame.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Much Better than the Tamron 10-24mm! I bought this lens to replace my Tamron 10-24mm, which I used for about 2 years. I always liked the extreme wide angle of the Tamron but noticed that the image was often a bit soft, especially in low-light situations. I've been using this Canon lens now for a couple of weeks, and I definitely notice a marked increase in sharpness. I also used to hate the Tamron because when photographing light sources, they would often come out in the shape of an arc. The Canon doesn't have this annoying problem. The Canon is considerably more expensive, but if you're serious about photography (or, at least, a serious hobbyist), I think it's totally worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic for Landscape I recently purchased this lens and brought it along on a backpacking trip in colorado. I can only say great things about image quality and build quality, although the price is a bit steep. This lens excelled at taking landscapes as well as taking great pictures of architecture before and after the hike. I kept it in a plastic ziplock and it held up great to hail, rain and temp changes while in the plastic bag which was tucked safely inside my backpack. All in all, this is a great lens that gives you a professional uber-wide angle look (if you are willing to shell out the money).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wide angle Windfall! Love the wide angle lens. It cost almost as much as the Canon Rebel EOS T5i camera we have, but worth every penny. Will take your photographs to the next level. Thought I would use it mostly for work to take exterior pictures of buildings, but love to use it for interior shots of rooms, such as the tree on Christmas morning with all the presents and decorations in the room. Also great for group shots or as I have been saying telling the whole story. Very easy to change out the lens. Have received lots of compliments on photos where the lens was used. Find myself wanting to use it for everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small and powerful lens I wanted a good wide-angle lens for landscape photography. I took some time to review a number of products from Canon and Tamron. After all the research decided to purchase this lens. It definitely delivers what it promised based on all the reviews. It delivers very sharp images, beautifully panoramic shots making stitching of images unnecessary but still fun if you want to make picture even wider. Autofocus on this lens is accurate, even in lower light conditions. I definitely suggest to use ND filters for bright conditions. If you want to have some fun try some portraits with this lens just make sure to have a model that appreciates weird and distorted funny images.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for travel photography I recently purchased this lens before a trip to Egypt, and was very pleased with the results. Using a circular polarizer, I felt that I was able to capture the feel of the places I was visiting. The lens really came into it's zone shooting in the wide landscapes of the Sahara, and I was able to get some sharp focus in the foreground while capturing the larger picture of the landscape. My only complaint is that the weather sealing could be a little better (although I acknowledge it's not an L series lens). After 2 days of shooting in dusty, sandy environments, it has a rather crunchy sound as it focuses. Overall, I'm very pleased.
