    Pearstone HDC-1010W Reviews

Pro Camcorder Case with Wheels is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy Duty & Secure for All Purposes We purchased one of these Pearstone bags at work for our Sony HVR-HD 1000u shouldermount camcorder and this bag is very accomondating. This camera is huge, and there was plenty of room for several accessories. The inside of the bag is completely customizeable-- it features velcro inserts that allow you to custom-form-fit the inside of the bag. The bag features a retractable handle and wheels for easy transport. The zippers are very rugged and don't jam. There are also side pockets for cords and additional small accessories. The price is a bit high for a camera bag, but it's well worth it to protect your investments.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed This case is the perfect size for my Canon XF300 and all the accessories and I like the fact that it has wheels and a handy retractable handle. I am disappointed though concerning the quality of the bag itself. For the price I would expect it to be more durable. Within the first month one of the zipper pulls broke in half, another zipper pull broke completely and there was already a small area of stitching unraveling. This all occurred during light to normal use. As a high school video production teacher, I purchased this product expecting it to hold up better than cheaper versions. I have to make wise choices with the money I spend considering we are basically a self-supported program. Bottom line: I expected better quality from Pearstone.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for the money I gave this four stars comparing it to what it is, not against high priced competitors. I was looking for a cheap bag to protect my fully rigged FS700 while transporting it in my car location to location. The positives are it's cheap, it has wheels and has hard sides so it does what I wanted the bag to do: Protect the camera. Some people say it's too big but I wish it was just a bit bigger. As for negatives, it's only got one pocket on the outside. The outside is OK but the inside material is flimsy and will not stand up to heavy use. I wouldn't check this on an airplane but for throwing my back seat it's just great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great case for large camera and extras This camcorder case is a great way to lug around your pro form factor video unit, as well as extra tapes (or cards), cables, small light accessories, etc. It has sturdy divider inserts that you can use to configure the interior as needed. The only drawbacks are that most pro-sized cameras will take up most of the room in a way that makes the interior dividers a bit cumbersome to arrange; and, it would not be a bag to take on a flight as checked baggage. If you need a bag sturdy enough for local travel and large enough to carry most of your camera extras (not big lights but things needed on the camera itself), this bag will do it for you exceptionally well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice case for the money I was looking for a reasonably priced travel case for some of my cameras and this case was recommended to me by a colleague. It's a little bulky, but I can carry everything I need for a days shoot in the case. Just throw the pod on my shoulder and pull the camera case behind me thanks to the convenient built in wheels and pull out handle. Time will tell how durable it is compared to my Kata and Porta Brace bags, but for the money you can't go wrong this. I don't recommend using this for air travel though. It's too big for most carry on and the dividers aren't tall enough to prevent things from flying around inside the case as the case gets tossed around by TSA.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Meets Expectations at this Price Point This rig case is fine as long as your expectations are reasonable for this price point. It holds my HPX170 outfitted with rods/plate, Redrock matte box, follow-focus and 7 monitor, all assembled. I arranged the dividers as in the attached pictures. The Redrock matte box is 12 inches wide, and just barely fits, with it's flag adjustment knobs pushing against the insides of the case. I arranged things so that when the case is up on its wheels, the viewer end of the camera and protruding rods are at the bottom, rather than having the rig resting on the matte box when case sits upright. My monitor's arm loosens allowing it to fold down flat along the side of the camera. Room that is left holds headphones and wireless set. There is one outside pocket that can hold cables, and misc. The jersey fabric lining is thin so care should be taken when pulling velcro away from it or it may rip. The foam padding underneath the jersey fabric seems adequate. I curved the long divider to provide a catch for one end of the rig. I used the leftover dividers to provide cushioning under the top flap. I think the case may be too tall to put in airline overhead and I definitely would not trust it as checked backage. For carry-on, I reasoned that I will pack my rig parts in another checked case and carry-on the camera in my regular portabrace case. But for lugging an assembled rig around a shooting site or working from your car, this case should work fine. If you want the best, and have the budget, look at the Portabrace RIG-2SRK; but for my biz, this case is cost-effective used as I have described. I hope you find this helpful.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, heavy case I was attracted to this case because of its size and the wheels and handle. The compartments are easily adjustable for a variety of cameras and accessories. The empty weight was surprising but worth it if it holds up under heavy use. Straps are substantial and the over-shoulder strap is mildly padded. The bag is big enough for both a mid size camcorder with accessories and a DSLR with 4 lenses. If the dividers were a bit taller, it would keep equipment from shifting around when in vertical position using the wheels. That and the lack of a tie down system for a camcorder seem to be the only issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thouigh its plain looking... The Pearson Pro Camcorder case is anything but plain on the inside, and I speak of its functionality. I don't mind that it is just rectangular, because it can house some pretty big cameras or pieces of equipment. Because of the remove able sections inside you can defiantly reassemble for any custom bag load out. Strong zippers, extra pockets and quality wheels for toting is what a profession needs. Great multi-0fuinctional bag!
