ZEISS C Biogon T* 35mm f/2.8 ZM Lens (Black)
Key Features
  • Leica M-Mount Lens
  • Aperture Range: f/2.8 to f/22
  • One Low Dispersion Element
  • ZEISS T* Anti-Reflective Coating
Characterized by its sleek form factor and versatility, the black C Biogon T* 35mm f/2.8 ZM from ZEISS is a notably compact wide-angle prime designed for M-mount rangefinder cameras. Its 'C' designation reflects the lens's compact form factor and classic optical design to produce imagery with true color fidelity and natural rendering. The Biogon optical concept helps to ensure virtually no distortion, and one anomalous partial dispersion element is also used to reduce chromatic aberrations and color fringing for improved clarity and color accuracy. Additionally, a T* anti-reflective coating has also been applied to reduce lens flare and ghosting for increased contrast in strong lighting conditions.

Should I get the biogin 35mm f2.8, or Summarit 35mm f2.4 for my leica m240?
Asked by: Louis
Personally I would go with the Biogin just due to the fact I like the slightly higher contrast and reduced flare ability.

question

We know that the filter size for this lens is 43mm. But what is the exact size we should take into consideration when buying a lens hood for this lens?
Asked by: Anonymous
The lens hood bayonet is outside the filter thread. In fact, I can easily put the notorious Zeiss lenscap on with the filter and hood mounted; the hood never leaves the lens.

question

Debating between this Zeiss 35mm and the Voightlander 21mm 1.8 Ultron, any comparisons and which one is better?
Asked by: Anonymous
That's an apples to oranges comparison. You didn't specify if the Zeiss lens was f2 or f2.8. The focal length of those are vastly different so, no comparison there either. I can say the Zeiss 35mm 2.8 Biogon lens is superb and I'm critical about build quality and sharpness and have no complaints about that lens at all. IMHO, it's every bit as good as the Summicron and a fraction of the cost.

question

Has anyone tried this lens on a Sony A6000? If so, any problems?
Asked by: Doug W.
I found it a bit difficult to use the focus. Its very difficult to see when the image is in focus so I decided to use the Sony lens instead.
