I had to try a number of settings to get it to hold my Nikon D700 camera.

Easy to use, locks down tight

Perfect for holding a mirrorless camera on my desk for streaming / video conferencing. Probably overkill for my needs, but it's a solid bit of kit.

Solid, but dependable

I have three of these for various desk / camera mounts. They aren't small - but able to support pretty heavy rigs. I have two currently mounting a Canon r5, 13 iPad, and a teleprompter. It's probably overkill for a small camera / desk, but for me it's the right balance in size for stability.

Can mount a camera easily and securely. Remove camera bracket and you have 5/8 stud for small light. Arri 150/300.

Perfect for product photography.

If you are a product photographer you will want these! Besides using the camera bracket for a camera you can use these arms to position speedlites closer to your subject at odd angles to illuminate various parts of a product--for example a snooted speedlite moved in close to project a beam of light at just a product label. You can also remove the camera bracket and use the arm along with a pin & clamp to hold flags, scrims, gobos, and to dangle suspended objects. These arms are not long enough for shooting large sized products--for that you will need Super Clamps and heavier bars for longer suspensions--but they are perfect for shooting a variety of small sized products.

Spend the extra money

I foolishly bought a smaller cheaper arm set that was supposedly rated for a 5# load which could not support 1/2 that. I research my options and bought the Magic Arm and clamp. This is a beast! Vey easily holds my BM Video Assist 7 monitor. This is very sturdy and very well made. Avoid the cheaper options and go with this if you need to support under 6 pounds.

The Mounting Bracket to Have

If you are mounting a remote camera, this is the tool. Holds gripped DLSR with medium telephoto lens no problem. Don't forget the safety cables.

Holds a full size camera with ease

Using this with a Mirrorless SLR with Zoom lens for streaming and it is easy to position and plenty steady. I've been using Manfrotto products since the early '80s (Bogen then) and they are always a good investment.
