Manfrotto 028B Triman Reviews
After 4 years I'm buying three more of these
This tripod is perfect for me shooting events. The geared column is fantastic. I have a Pansonic HC-X2 camcorder on it, so about 6 pounds with the largest battery. Without even using the last leg extension the column gets over the audience. And often during long programs I want to sit down and need to lower the camera to reach the control arm. Even zoomed in, I can grasp the column with one hand and slowly lower the camera with the other without any camera movement while live streaming. I was asked to do this review after buying a second one for my second HC-X2, and I'll be buying two more next month. Oh, the legs are sturdy enough for a C clamp arm for a 7 monitor on one side, and a consumer camera on a second arm on the other side. And I slip a tray over two of the legs to hold an ATEM mixer. Attaching a head is super easy - just screw up the column to get to the set screws underneath. After 4 years, I've never, ever wished this tripod had anything else. So, yeah, I highly recommend it.
Don't Hesitate
Just buy it. If you re looking for a failsafe tripod that you can walk away from and know it's not going anywhere, then this is the one for you. I use with ball-heads & gimbals to hold my heavy telephoto setup and it works like a champ. If you are buying a tripod like this, you shouldn't be worried about the weight. It's not heavy for me, maybe for some. I take it everywhere for the reason that it's hefty and know it will suite me needs for fieldwork shooting wildlife.
