    Manfrotto 380 Reviews

380 Tripod Leg Protectors is rated 2.7 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good product if you can get by the goop What I didn't like: White gluey goop was on the outside of the protectors. I haven't tried any solvent on it yet, but wiped up most of it with a paper towel. It's not sticky any more, but looks a little messy, which doesn't bother me terribly. Also, it took quite a bit of work to get the last inch of the zipper closed. What I like: Very nice once you get them on, with the exception of the goop. It's fortunate that the build quality is very solid, or the forcing of the zipper over the last inch would have destroyed the zipper or the stiching holding it in place.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Expect a mess! I ordered these thinking that OEM would fit the best but these leg protectors are poor. I opened the package to find 3 leg protectors stacked together with glue oozing out and all over the protectors. They have a strip of glue about an inch wide running down the inside of each protector to help prevent slipage but the glue was all over everything in the package. I should have immediately sent them back but instead spent a couple of hours cleaning up the mess with Goo-Be-Gone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sad story Bought the set to replace the worn out original foam that was on the tripod. Unfortunately this item is too thin to provide any useful cushion. Installment was easier than described by others - my trick was to assemble to protector first and allow it to take to the round shape for about 5 minutes. Out of the box it is flat and the zippers point to opposite directions and assembly is impossible. Still one leg needed pliers to pull the zipper and the zipper hold broke. Looking for a better solution. Pipe insulation and handlebar tape?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good protectors except for the goop As the other reviews have mentioned, when you open it up, there's this white goop all over the back side of the protectors. There's also a yellow strip that I assume is supposed to be removed prior to installation, but with the goop being everywhere, it's hard to tell (I removed it). ... once you install it, you can't see the goop at all, and it doesn't dry to prevent the protectors from being twisted or removed (a good thing in my book). Just be prepared to get your hands real messy when installing it, and if you ever need to remove the protector permanently, you'll have to clean off the goop as well. Also, don't forget to zip it from the top going down. This prevents the zipper from undoing itself. They do a very good job of protecting the legs, so I wouldn't mind buying them again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of $$ These do not fit my 055 Series tripod. They are too small. After 90 minutes of fitting these on my tripod, two of the zippers started splitting due to the tension on them. If the protector was just a little bigger (1/8of inch) it would be great. But if it does not fit, then is a waste of money. Manfrotto needs to revisit this problem and fix it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very difficult to install. I found them hard to install. I'm sure that I ordered the correct size but they were much to small to fit. Impossible to zip. In fact I ruined a zipper in the effort causing them to be useless. Would pass on these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Manfrotto Tripod Leg Protectors The 3 leg covers arrived quickly and seem to be a quality well made product. However, I have been trying for over 2 weeks to install the first cover and not been successful. The cover should be a bit more flexible to make installation easier. I'm not giving up as others have been successful in installing them and the results hopefully will worth the effort. However I would not recommend others to purchase this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't Buy! I was super excited when these arrived last night, because I've been doing a lot of outdoor shooting recently, and my hands are numb by the end of the day. I have a Manfrotto 3021 tripod, so I knew I bought the right covers. I opened the packet to find a very small illustration paper and with no other directions. While the drawings make it look like an easy thing, it's really not. After about 20 minutes trying to get the FIRST cover on, I was unsuccessul. I had my boyfriend help me hold the cover together, and still no luck. It is a super tight fit to even hold it together to try and zip up. So then we took off the tripod leg, thinking if we zipped up the cover halfway then slid it onto the leg, it would work. NOT A CHANCE. Because of the stickiness from the pad on the inside of the leg, we couldn't even slide it halfway down the leg. My boyfriend was even using his leatherman to relieve some of the pain on our fingers from the zipper since we had to try so hard. While he was still trying that, I moved on to try and start the 2nd cover, could barely zip it halfway and had to stop. If there was just a bit more material, this would've been a breeze. I don't know how anyone else has managed to get these on, but I DO NOT recommend buying these, unless you want to spend more than 30 minutes trying.
