The Kirk LBA-1 USB/AC Spacer Block is a spacer block that mounts to the side of any Kirk custom L-bracket. The spacer allows for all the connection cables connected to camera's side to run through the spacer block. This way the camera can be switched from horizontal to vertical in one flip, without having to reconnect all the cables again. This is especially ideal when shooting tethered to a computer.

Connects to the L-bracket with 2 hex screws
Machined from 6061T6 aluminum with stainless steel hex screws

    LBA-1 USB/AC Spacer Block for L-Brackets is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well made, best with thinner cables. Pros: -Designed so you can have the cable slot on either end. -Very well constructed. -Slot is wide enough to feed the connector and cable of a Nikon Issued camera cable without removing the block. Cons: -Slot is not big enough for the larger connectors, like from Tether Tools. You will need to attach the cable first, before attaching the spacer block, which means leaving it all attached , or taking the block off every time you are done with tethering. Conclusions: -I found it best to move the L-bracket to give you more height so that the cable has less of a bend near the connector. This extra height also helps with connecting the cable to the camera (when leaving the block attached). -Use this block if you want to use straight cable connecters. -Do not use this block if using right-angle cable connectors, just adjust your L-bracket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good to have. I got this as a just in case I need it item. It does open up the ports nicely. But so far I've not really needed it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for use with a tethered Nikon D90 I bought this to use with my Kirk L bracket on a Nikon D90 and shoot vertically while tethered to my laptop. The spacer provides room for the Nikon AC adaptor, a USB 2.0 cable, and the wired Nikon remote. Very nice, very well-constructed solution to the problem of what to do with wires if you want to shoot vertically and maintain the center of weight over, rather than to the side of, the tripod. Easy to detach from the L bracket when a tethered shoot is over.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Important Accessory for L-brackets I am using this offset block with a Canon 60D and a Kirk BL-60D L bracket. This block is worth having if you need to access the camera connectors when using it on a tripod in the portrait position. It is possible to access some of the connectors on my camera using cables with right angle connectors but this block allows access to all connectors with standard cables.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's not pretty but it works This is a well-made and indispensable accessory for tethered shooting in the verticle position with a Kirk L-bracket, which of course, is the only way to shoot vertically with maximum stability. Arranging the cords takes a bit of planning and dexterity, but once set up, performs admirably by doing its job while staying out of the way. Well worth the investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect companion to the Kirk L-Bracket Let's me tie the USB cable down for tethered shooting. Allows me to shoot portrait while tethered. If I am going outdoors shooting without the laptop, then I can quickly disconnect it. Not happy about the price, but to not have the USB cable unplug itself during a photoshoot is priceless!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs as intended Simply permits tethered operation of the camera using an L bracket in the portrait orientation. Prevents the need to flop the entire camera and ball head to one side.
