Designed for use by graphic designers and photographers, the Pantone ColorMunki Design Color Management Solution provides display, projector and RGB/CMYK printer profiling in an easy-to-use all-in-one integrated solution with a streamlined interface, enabling photographers to easily, quickly and affordably match colors from display to print. The Colormunki Design includes software to optimize spot colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet).

The Swiss-engineered ColorMunki spectrophotometer is a portable all-in-one device that provides Monitor, Projector & Printer Profiling, along with ambient light measurement and spot color measurement without the need for any cumbersome accessories to repurpose the device; it even has a Built-in white calibration tile for self calibration. Think of it as a "Swiss Army Knife" of color management.

You'll get precise monitor calibration using a basic mode with preconfigured settings or an advanced mode with settings for white point, ambient compensation and precalibration. It also has the ability to capture the ambient light within a room or a light box for an impressive level of color calibration. The ColorMunki is even capable of fast and accurate projector profiling to project your images to your clients, family, or friends with color confidence. It's RGB and CMYK printer profiling technology provides complete color control along with optimized printer profiling, and has the ability to optimize spot color samples for accurate rendering that is particularly useful for consistent graphic design output. Plus there is no need to read individual color patches because ColorMunki's super fast printer profiling can rapidly scan test charts in less than one minute.

Furthermore, the ColorMunki software provides color creation and communication tools that allow you to grab colors from virtually anywhere, including your entire image library, preview your color palettes under different light sources and even preview for PrintSafe production under a variety of different printing methods.

No Cumbersome Accessories Needed
The All-in-One design of the ColorMunki spectrophotometer means no separate accessories are needed to profile your displays and printers. A white calibration tile is integrated right into the device, and it includes a protective bag, which doubles as an integrated monitor holder.
Calibrate with Ease
Quick, easy, and accurate display-to-print matching is what the ColorMunki is all about. The included software guides you through whichever profiling function you desire. You can select "match my printer to my display" and you'll be completely guided through the profiling process, or you can easily jump right to display, projector or printer profiling.
Calibrate LCD & Laptop Computer Displays
The ColorMunki calibrates all types of LCD & Laptop monitors using either the Easy or Advanced mode. The Easy mode has predetermined selections, so you don't need to be a color expert. For those looking for more control over whitepoint or ambient measurements, choose the "advanced" mode. The DDC auto detect control will quickly determine if your monitor is compliant and if so, perform one button display profiling. ColorMunki can also calibrate multiple displays with ease, and provides before and after visualization, as well as calibration reminder prompts.
Projector Profiling
Using Video projectors to display images has always been a hit-or-miss proposition in regards to color accuracy. Utilizing the same profiling technology for your computer display, and with just a flip of the devices selector wheel, ColorMunki will give you fast and accurate projector profiles so you can project your images to your client, family or friends with confidence.
Printer Profiling
The ColorMunki can profile RGB and CMYK printers, and delivers outstanding printer profile quality for print color that matches what you see on your screen. You simply scan one test chart of 50 patches, and ColorMunki calculates an interim profile and learns how your printer behaves for these colors. It then produces a second chart that perfects your profile once you scan it. The ColorMunki even has the ability to optimize for specific colors, black & white, and flesh tones from individual image types. And the ColorMunki's super fast scanning capability can rapidly measure test charts in less than one minute, so you don't lose precious productivity time with the process of printer profiling.
Color Profile Management
ColorMunki includes software to help manage and fully utilize your color profiles. ColorMunki's AppSet talks with your photo and design applications to automate printer profile setting, and with PrintSafe checking capabilities, you'll be able to preview your color palettes under different lighting sources or printing processes before you go to production.
Color Extraction
ColorMunki Design includes Palette Creation software that allows you to create and name unlimited custom color palettes. With this software, you can select colors from Pantone and other built-in libraries, select colors from dynamically associated Harmony, Variation and Similar color sets, capture any color from any surface, or automatically extract color from any image. It also provides the ability to search generated color themes with natural language labels like "fresh", "sporty" or "vivid"

ColorMunki Design Color Management Solution is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not working on Mac This replaced and upgraded an older Monaco EZ color for my macs. I wanted to get profiling for a digital projector, and that works great from a newer macbook air. HOWEVER: on my main production machines, a 24 newer iMac and a older Mac tower with dual 27 screens (both running 10.8.5), the colormunki is not working. Tried all permutations of installing, de-installing, disk permissions, even setting up new admin user, but the device does not profile the display. The device can calibrate itself, but will not calibrate the display, so recognizes the hardware, but there is some communication bug. Device works fine on an XP box, but not on a Mac. The problem is known to x-rite, but they can't fix it. Spent some quality time with tech support on the phone, but no resolution either. Bottom line: if you have a mac, be prepared for it not working.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Effective way to colour management Easy way to colour manage my monitors and photo printer attached to my Mac. Have not yet tried the projector function, but what I have used works well. Also great to get the Pantone colour samples included in the set. Thought I had adjusted my monitors fairly well, but the improvement was actually astonishing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does exactly what it says it does I was reluctant to spend the money but could not get the prints I wanted. I have the Eye one, so my monitor was calibrated but still the prints were not right. Considered a better printer but opted to try the Colormunki first. Best decision I could have made. Spent about 45 mins. reading Quick start, loading software, calibrating monitor and printer. Printed the first print and was blown away. I didn't know my Epson R380 could look so good. Money well spent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Competent & capable color spectrophotometer Disclaimer: This is the only color spectrophotometer I've ever used. I used one in my previous job, and then recently bought my own. There are a few rough edges, both hardware and software (particularly the placement of the USB port, which makes it hard to use the pivoting sample alignment guide). But it's generally easy to sample colors from physical objects and it can be also be used to calibrate your monitors & printers. And my favorite geeky feature is that you can actually open up your captured palettes (they're XML-based) and see the raw sampled light data from 380-720nm in 10nm increments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Really Works! It took me a couple of trys, but after I got it, it works fantastic. Yoiu need to make sure your printer settings are exactly the same for your initial target printing and your corrected target printing--then calibrating your printer is a breeze. I have not learned all the other stuff this unit can do, but I'm quite happy with the calibration it does.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool It's a great tool, works flawlessly on the PC, though I had to install it 3 times on a Mac for the calibrating screens to pop up (might have been my issues) .. worked finally. Very easy to setup, calibration is spot on, print results are great, and the ability to profile screen considering the ambient light situation is great. this little device pack a punch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works fine Profiles everything. Not using it for paper as Red River provides their own profiles for epson and their paper. Profiles my monitor much faster than the i1 display 2 did. The software does not seem to be abandoned like the Eye-One match seems to have been.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice idea but. . . So far I have been unable to do more than create one printer profile. I find the documentation and illustrative movies sadly lacking and (in the case of the movies pretty amaturish and in need of some text. The hardware is pretty. . but awkward to use. It's difficult to use without pushing the button and causing it to re-run the calibration test. I originally installed this on a Window XP Pro system. A few days later I converted that system to Windows 7 Ultimate. I have not been able to even profile my monitors yet. Tech support gave me four things to check. I checked or performed the suggested changes on all of the four items. None of those have solved the problem. That was on a Friday. I wasn't able yet to follow their suggestion and call them. So far it's just a paperweight.
